Need RW towel advice.

LashingStanley- Don`t get me wrong as I genuinely, absolutely, *DO* appreciate your input on this...but those just don`t seem plush enough, or maybe it`s that the nap isn`t as long as I want. The MFs I have that appear similar aren`t satisfying me. (I even, just now, rechecked the sites for both of those to make sure I know what I`m talking about ;) ).

I thought I`d like the Creatures, but again, considering them in light of what I already have convinced me that that`s not it.

Note that I currently have maybe, oh I dunno...a few dozen MFs that I use for washing, of five/six different types.

I have *one* really nice edgeless that I got from...somebody...as a freebie and that`s what I`d like for my "lightweight" ones. If I *had* to guess it came from CarPro. For my other RW MFs, I`m pretty sure I want something like the Eagles.

Makes sense, Eagles are a premium towel and the clear choice for many. They hold up over time better than the creatures which can start degrading and losing softness after 15-20 washes (I know there are way more factors involved in maintaining towels softness but this is just my experience). The 100% split weave of the Eagle makes them release dirt easier which is ideal for rinseless washing. If I was only caring for my personal vehicles I think eagles would be my choice as well. I just wanted to provide my opinion on the creatures because even though they are chinese towels IME they are better than most Korean towels for the price.

You should definitely pick up 1 edgeless minx as well just because they are insane. I have really rough calluses from lifting and the minx is softer and less grabby than even the eagles by a long shot. I`d love to hear your thoughts on them.

I just bought a pack of the Minx Royale to give this bucket of towels method a try again...got them from that river place because it was cheaper than direct.

Noting that I was finally able to lose the calluses from *my* lifting...I know exactly what you mean about how some MFs can really grab on those!

Ya know..for some reason I actually *like* the grabbiness. Also kinda like the static-cling effect! Weird huh, but well, I do :o

Hmmm...so, if I don`t mind the grabbiness, what`d be the argument for getting some Minxes along with Eagles?

Heh heh, if we keep analyzing this to death it`ll keep me occupied, and perhaps get me better informed, while waiting for the Next Big Sale.

Bumping this thread because my question is sort of relevant. I`m looking to get some eagle edgeless towels but don`t know what gsm to get. Any suggestions? Main purpose would be GDWM, QD wipe, and the occasional wax removal. I know they are all different applications and I would use different towels for each, but I`m curious if one gsm would work for all three applications.

Here is what works for me. Although I don`t do the so called GDWM anymore with a rinseless, the eagle edgeless 500 (as they have been updated) work well. For QD`s the eagle edgelss 350 (formerly the wizard) is better in my opinion for this task. For drying during the rinseless process the pluffle is nice. For wax removal the edgeless 365`s are the way to go.

PearTree- Maybe you oughta just get a few of the ones on your short-list and see what you like best. I find that I use a scad of different things when doing RW-type stuff, and my fave for one thing isn`t even in the running for something else...funny, but that`s how it`s worked out.

Thanks guys. Think I`m gonna get a 3 pack of different weights to try before I go all out on towels.
