New addition to the shop. Quickjack 7000!!!

So like most who have been in the game for a while I really started to get frustrated with doing rocker and lower panels on low to the ground vehicles as well as using 4 jack stands and jack to do wheels off treatments.

I had been eyeballing a quickjack for a while now and after a bunch of reading and video watching I pulled the trigger on the 7000slx model. This is rated for 7000lbs and will fit most cars no problem. With the soon to be released extensions I will be able to lift bigger vehicles as well. For 1500$ I think it`s priced right.


Upon initial delivery I wasn`t to thrilled about the box it was packed in. It showed up all ripped and torn. But I will say the unit was undamaged.






All the hoses and pump, fittings etc were in a separate box packaged very well.







Once all unpacked I took a look at everything. The fittings, hoses and units all seem well done. The package with the fittings even includes Teflon tape so the only thing you need to supply is 2.5qts of ATF fluid for the pump and some basic hand tools for assembly. The included manual is very well illustrated and easy to understand.



Within a couple hours I was up and using the lift.

So far so good. Looking forward to putting it to use. All I know is that my rockers need some polishing now! Haha.
 
To me, those lifts have to make a big difference during polishing. Better access and things down low should be lit up better. One of these days, but I`ve been too cheap to spend the money on a Rupe`s Nano.
 
Justins00SS- Interesting, and I bet it`ll be great for what you`re after. I don`t know whether I could deal with having to slide under from the front/back of the car (rather than under the rockers), but still...open mind and all so a few Qs come to mind:

What might one put under it to protect the floor?

What actually contacts the vehicle and how big are the pieces that do?

How much of the underneath is obstructed by it, like...where it lifts the vehicle, areas like the floorpan behind the rocker panels?
 
Very sweet. Was thinking of one myself for the cars. I have something similar for my bikes and it saves a ton of time and pain. Look forward to your thought`s after a bit

Your exactly right! Much better for doing rockers and the wheels off services I offer.

Each plank is about 100lbs. And each plank has little wheels attached at one end to roll it around.

1. Maybe some sort of thin rubber mat?

2. The kit is supplied with 8 rubber blocks. 4 small ones and 4 larger ones. They fit in a recessed area and that`s what contacts the lift points.

4. With the lift up you have pretty much full access to the under side minus where the planks are. So about 6in width roughly.

These have been on my wish list for a year I just keep cheeping out because i don`t do much maintenance at home but man I want them so bad.

Wow, that finish you did on the Rockers is beautiful, clear, and glossy !!!
Looks like you are good with the Flex Rotary !! Yeah !!!
Hard to beat Optimum Hyper-Polish on some applications..

Thanks bud. I love a good rotary. I cut my teeth 16 years ago detailing with a rotary. The first Porter Cable da were just starting to hit the market around then. Hyper polish is very nice for a lot of different finishes.

The lift is definitely going to come in handy.
