A little preface: This client noticed my work on his friends Hellcat and quickly booked for my last opening this month.

It`s a 2012 with 66k, his wifes daily driver and boy were they in for a surprise. :)
(He said he was in need of a little refresh on the car. I figured, I`m more of a `shock and awe` detailer but for the right price, we can call it a refresh if he`d like.)

I recently acquired master compound so you know I had to give it a go.

Awesome work and documentation!

Glad the customer was impressed. In the end that is the most important factor for you.

Beautiful work as always Brandt!
What are your thoughts on Master Compound? Ive been debating picking it up and adding it to the collection.

good question

Overall I really enjoyed using master compound. It has a pleasant fragrance, spreads really easily and wipes off ridiculously easy. Like poorboys polishes easy on the removal side. Actually these polish angel polishes are the only polishes I own besides the Poorboys polishes that remove so easily.

On the cut side it didn`t seem to have as much oomph as my usual compound of recent (The Last Cut) but then again this mercades paint seemed like it was pretty hard relative to the Mopars I`m used to working on so that may have had something to do with it.

I didn`t even play around with other combos as this did what I wanted and there were going to be RIDS leftover anyways.

I wouldn`t say this is a `must buy` for a compound as much as Final Finish is a `must buy` (and its really, really good) as a finishing polish. In other words, I`ll be buying a larger bottle of Final Finish and really am not sure if I`d buy master compound again if faced with the decision of it over The Last Cut or even P1 for that matter. I feel those compounds provide more cut with the same pad.

Ceramiclear maybe?

x2 on the beautiful work Brandt!

Check out this recently uploaded video from a detailer down under...

I agree with him on the working time and dust issue. The only dusting I got was from the pads I have which I guess were not 100% clean as they dusted when they initially spun up.

I definitely didn’t do 6-8 passes, I did two and thought it was pretty impressive for two passes with not much pressure. I did notice it could have easily gone many more passes without adding anything else to the pad.

I guess I should have watched this guy’s vid first as I probably left some cut on the table.

I also agree that this did not gum up on my pad as much as other compounds I have used. Probably the least now that I actually think about it.

Hmm.. stay tuned for my Updated thoughts after I use this again on a red vehicle this weekend.

Your additional thoughts/experience with Master Compound would certainly be appreciated. It`s interesting that in the video he says that using Master Compound with a microfiber pad was one of the best combos he`d ever used. You also chose to use the Urofiber pad in this detail, which apparently was a good choice. I have the Urofiber pads also, but have not had a chance to use them yet. Would love to read some of your future comments about the combination of Master Compound and Urofiber pads...

Keep up the great work and thanks for posting!

I`ve been using the urofibers since the literal day they were available to be shipped to me. I have 4 or5 in each size but only 2 each in the 2 and 1 inch (which I find they`re not really as useful as the rupes blue pad in the ibird)

I`ve used urofibers with multiple different compounds but never tried to "one step" with it... just not my style I guess... then again I`m the guy who uses a coating primer as a Post final finishing product essentially making a two step coating into a three step with the primer stage. Why? because that little bit of extra shine is what I`m chasing for my clients. (edit..ok maybe not for them, maybe for me..I always am trying to one up myself)

I`ll try to document more in my head as I do the next vehicle. I literally had an exact day (24 hours) to turn this around and it took about 16 hours of work.

Hate when that happens. Seems like certain polish and pad combos retain the dust no matter how well you clean them. Or maybe I just suck at cleaning pads:)
