Newbie questions

I just picked up a Duetto off Ebay. I got in on auciton at a good price.

As far as pads go, is there a big difference between the Rupes pads vs LC Pads or other brands. Is it more of personal preference? Is there a different in the longevity of pads? I`ve read a lot on here and both the Rupes pads and LC pads have their appeal.

I`ll be working on a 2016 white Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and a silver 2011 BMW 335d. Both are in pretty good shape and might only need a little correction. What is a good series of polishes/waxes or sealants to go with for both cars? Any help would be great.
 
On the 335d (I too have a 335d) I would use a microfiber pad with Menz 400 and follow with Essence (then apply a coating). Choice of pads is one of those personnel things, but I would start with the Rupes pads if I was just starting out. You can play around after you get some experience. Congrats on the new polisher.

Rupes Pads & sauce.

The pads are thick and help on contoured areas, easier to edge with.
The Green & Yellow polishes are sooo easy.
LC is a better price, but I have yet to find a pad to match Rupes white for finishing. To which I use Scholls S40 - sweet sauce :D
 
Unnessarry. The Essence has plenty of fine polish to shine and remove any marring from the 400. If you are not going to coat the car, substitute the 3500 for Essence.
