Tired black Duramax wearing IGL

So the past few days I took on a big ole 2011 2500 Silverado. This poor truck had never been polished. The owner almost didn`t purchase it because he wasn`t sure if it would be able to be saved. Thankfully a good bit of time and some elbow grease took care of it pretty well.

Let me start by saying this paint was horrible to polish. Rock hard but trying to finish it without hazing was a chore and required some slow speed polishing to finish it out.

Overall the truck came out nice but it has its fair share of RIDS remaining.

Wheels/Tires- Mckees foaming wheel cleaner gel, LATA, Mckees Gloss Tire Gel

Washed/Decon - Mckees extreme foam shampoo, nanoskin medium grade prep pad

BOSS G21, black LC pro thin pad, Pinnacle advanced finishing polish

LSP- 2 layers IGL Quartz, topped with Premier silica sealant

Chrome- polished with McKee`s Fast Metal Polish

Plastic trim - Mckees plastic trim restorer

Hell of a save man. That beast was definitely used and abused. Looks great now

Yeah it was definitely toast!

I would imagine the customer was thrilled with that turn around!
great work!

Yeah I sent him a bunch of pictures in the sun. Unfortunately he picked up at night and it`s raining today. But he texted me saying the water was flying right off of it!

Truck looks great!! nice work

Thanks bud

Nice work!!

Thanks sir!

Looks amazing! Gotta agree with trashmanssd - that 50/50 shot is incredible!

Thanks bud. Definitely a big improvement. Unfortunately I am my own worst critic and the Rids were bothering me lol.

nice save!
hope the owner knows how to maintain that black now

Thanks bud. Yeah we had a good conversation about do`s and don`t. He`s going to place an order for some good products.

My favorite type of thread, bringing them back from the dead! Great save.

Thanks bud. It was definitely rough.

great job justin

Thanks.

Nice job.

Can you tell me how you like the igl. How is the applications ?

Thanks buddy.

IGL has been great to deal with. Jeff and Joel are awesome people. One of the biggest things I like is that I don`t have to follow some crazy pricing structure because I am a authorized installer unlike other brands. My demographic won`t support 1500$ + coating jobs on regular sedans. So I still set my own pricing.

All of there coatings are 2 layers with a 2hr wait between layers and 4hrs wait until Premier silica based sealant is applied.

Quartz is a little bit tricky to apply and is affected by temp and humidity. So if it`s too cold in the shop( below 50deg) or too hot (above 90) they don`t recommend trying to apply it. Otherwise it works like a dream. Quartz is there 2yr coating.

Poly is a 1yr coating and Quartz+ is a 3yr. Quartz+ is a layer of Poly with a layer of Quartz on top.

Then there`s Kenzo which is a flagship coating. I`m not authorized yet for Kenzo due to my market. They reserve that for big money shops.

Another good thing is I get all my orders in 2 days and they include a stack of pamphlets with all there coating info on them free of charge.
