Two brand new cars- how should I correct come spring?

Got two new cars on the road right now- one is a Honda in pearl white and the other a black Ford.

Both sealed with 845.

Come spring time, id like to correct both cars with a light polish.

I can use my rotary and menzerna 85rd or a dual action. What`s everyone`s recommendations, something simple and effective.

I`ve been surprised with Menzerna 3-in-1 but in a few weeks I`ll be doing a review between a few AIO i have and 3d speed i got coming in
 
Striker- It would depend on what`s required to correct the marring. I`d think the 85rd would be awfully mild. IMO you won`t really know until the first time you work those paints, at which time you`ll be able to answer your own question.

*I* would see if HD Polish was enough, but I wouldn`t expect it to be.

On the rotary vs. RO/DA- easy choice for *me* as I`d worry about rotary-induced holograms. I haven`t touched my rotaries in years and doubt I ever will again, but that`s just me.
 
Using DA, WG `Twins` (aka Total Swirl Remover and Finishing Glaze) w Lake Country orange/white pads respectively would likely prepare you to remedy the paint after winter. LSP choice remains up to you...continue with the Collinite or give WG Deep Gloss Paint Sealant a try. Or WG Uber Ceramic if`n ya wanna try an easy but good coating. Menzerna 2400 & 3500 are less costly kinda equivalents of the WG Twins.

HD Speed is nice but longevity is questionable and most top it with something so why not go with dedicated polishing and top as desired?

Well with the holidays and lots of time till the spring comes along, I would start a list for each vehicle and start reading and looking at videos here and on Autogeek. Don`t forget You Tube also and some which one will impresses you the most and would be the perfect fit for your " Spring Detailing ". One thing for sure it`s hard to say what would be needed for them but by the looks you might want to start looking at polishes for your polishers like M205, Menzerna Super Finish Plus or Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover. Hope this helps
 
Striker- Are the vehicles currently in need of correction? Just curious about why you`re planning to do this come Spring.
 
Nope they do not. However our winters here are bad. You being in Ohio you can relate. The ice. Snow. Salt. The works.

Yeah, though I keep knocking myself out trying to avoid having to do a big spring cleanup/correction with good results so far though I do wonder about keeping it up for the rest of my life.

I`ll be interested to hear how you do in this regard, I kinda consider "getting through the winter without needing to correct" to be a real acid-test, one that can`t really be passed without a crazy degree of care/effort and also pretty extreme facilities. "Is it worth it?" does come to mind...
 
And that`s just it- as I`m sure you`re aware of my newest acquirement, the fiesta st, it`s been killing me driving in the winter!!

I just looked underneath it on the weekend and it`s brutal. All white. Covered in sand. But ya can`t do much about it! I washed it off yes. But guess what? It goes on the road and it`s the same thing again.

Lately, I`ve been thinking tho- since I work for a Toyota dealership, we get trade ins from all kinds- just recently we took in a 2000 Corolla with 120k miles on it. I could have bought this car for 350 dollars and left the fiesta in the driveway (not ideal, but better then the salt lined highways)

Now you`re talkin` :D Something cheap/reliable + a set of good winter tires = No Worries come spring.

Yes indeed, I *was* thinking of your black Fiesta ST!
 
Just kills me watching it get destroyed. I`ll post a pic of how it sits now.
