I hav a coated SUV the coating was applied by the dealer and want to apply a second coating such as kamekazie or pinnacle black label. Can th second coating be applied or is it a waste ?

You`ll be wanting to strip/polish off the dealer `coating` before applying a new coaying.

I have a flex 401. What pads and products are recommended for removal and paint correction?

401 or 3401 ?

Myself I would start with a white pad, then step down to a black pad, as long as that took care of any swirls/rids.

I would start with a decon wash, then clay, that should show what you are truly dealing with, then make pad/polish decisions.

Flex 3401.

Redspark- Much as I like it for significant correction, I can never quite get the desired final finish with my Flex 3401, but maybe that`s just me. Anyhow-

I`m a little curious about why you want to redo it. What about the current product is unsatisfactory? I know Autopia is all about Absolute Perfection, but you paid to have that stuff applied and a complete redo of a SUV is a pretty big project.

Not really wanting to redo the coating. My main focus and question was on can another layer be added to the coating , such as black label or kamekzie . Some of the replies lead me to believe I need to strip the d coating.

I would say tha the best case would be to use the same coating if you want more applied. You can`t guarantee that another brand will play nice and bond properly.

Now if you just want to use a top up spray sealant you should be fine.

Well, that might make two of us! I figured that the idea behind coatings is that once it`s coated you just wash it until it needs coated again.

If it (the current coating/sealant) looks good just buy a bottle of Gyeon Cure or Polish Angel Cosmic and top it with that. Don`t go to all the trouble of polishing it off. That`s a huge waste of time for not much/any improvement.

Would think something like Menz 3500 with white Lake Country pad will do nicely if current paint in relatively good condition.
