Esotericcarcare towels - HOLY SMOKES!

I ordered a 5 pack on a whim, I definitely don`t need any more microfibers, but they`re RED!

For reference the towels I use most are Eagle Edgeless, Blue/Gray 2 sided from MFT, and recently Adam`s single/doubles. I have not yet got my hands on a MFM towel from Carpro, dunno why I just forget to order them :( Gotta get on that.

Not sure how they look in the pic on peoples monitors, but they`re very red, I should go take a pic of them next to an Eagle orange for reference. A very stunning looking towel.

IMHO it`s not fair to compare them to the Eagle or 2 sided simply because they`re so much more expensive. But since those are the 2 towels I use the most, I`ll use them for reference. The 5 pack of these works out to $7.50 a towel. Only the MFM are more expensive. You can get the Eagle`s or 2 sided much cheaper. There`s nothing scientific about my observations here. I have the new Adam`s Singles, which I`ve used only a few times, and really like. I washed the Esoteric`s in cold water with a few cap fulls of Adam`s MF revitalizer. The Esoteric`s feel softer, not a whole lot, and maybe after I`ve used them for a few months and washed them 4 times they`ll probably feel diffeent. I am wow`ed by these suckers, I will probably buy more because they`re red, and red MF`s are not easy to find. Anmd they are sooooo soft. I gave them the Junkman drag across skin test, flawless. I know some people say that test means nothing, but these are some soft damn towels. They`re pretty plush too. Todd lists them at 500gsm, which puts them just a bit above the Eagles. As much as I`m liking them, I honestly don`t see any uses where anything about em will make them worth the extra $$$ over the Eagles, I have a few dozen of those, and a dozen of the MFT Eagle like ones. I do mostly waterless and both of those have been my go to towels.

Yeap I`m a bit obsessed with towels, but I know there are dudes on here who have my collection beat easy., but to the average person having $500+ worth of Microfiber towels = you got a problem lol.

And as you can see I got a bottle of Overcoat, which I can`t wait to use! I washed and used PA Viking Spritz on my car last week so it`s no buenos on putting this on my car. But I`ll be washing + using Gyeon on a neighbors black Benz next weekend and will offer them a free Overcoat upgrade, so I`ll have something to take pics of :)

PROS:
SOFT SOFT SOFT
RED! - if you like red lol, I run a detailing business on the side and red`s my logos main color.

CONS:
pricey
can only order from 1 place in the US
makes me want to order a ten pack :(

Pads and MF`s, can you ever really have too many:) I too use the Eagle Edgeless for rinseless washes. I like how the Eagles work with detail spray. I don`t think the Eagles could scratch paint if you tried.

BTW, the towels look orangish to me on my iPhone, but I`m no judge of color. I`m colorblind:)

You can score a similar (if not same) towel over at Towel Pros for $2 each. After seeing so many towels at different stores, you realize almost all the towels are from the same manufacturer. There are exceptions of course.

Having trouble ordering on their site :(

quebert- I`ll be interested to hear whether they lint, which I`ve heard can be an issue with the Eagles.

I`ll update, but I never had a linting problem with my Eagles and I`ve used and washed them probably 60 times. I have maybe 20 of them, they`ve been flawless for me. But, I have read others having issues so I dunno.

Yer gonna love the Overcoat...use it on our coated cars about once a month. It`s magical...

Looks even better the next day...guess it takes a bit to cure?

I can tell you I won`t use anything else for a final wipe for coatings! They work extremely well for detail sprays. Yeah they are priced above others, but I`ve had some for a year and they still work great. Absolutely no lint.

HUMMM same color and same 500gsm. I need to order some just to see, even if they`re not the same, if they`re decent that`s a crazy good deal for a 500gsm towel. Todd says his towels are made by Kamikaze in Japan. IF these you mentioned are the same? I don`t even know how many I`ll order lol.

I have had red towels for maybe two years now.

Mine are a different nap on both sides you can see the shorter nap on the reset picture.

I used the PNS to show the red and the Kenotek to show the orange in reference to the red.

Please let us know. I`d take a stab at 2 dollar towels at 7.50 my dmt towels are perfect after many washes. I must own 100-150 of these.

quebert & Mikelambert- Thanks for the feedback regarding the linting. Seems that *every* MF I buy eventually lints...now my ones from MF Madness are doing it :(

Reviving a somewhat older thread ad I just recd my latest order and tossed in a 5 pack of the Esoteric towels to check `em out.

Wow...things almost floated outta the box when I opened it...so light and fluffy, soft, soft, soft. Nicely made...problem is I think they might be too nice to use on my cars...I kinda don`t wanna ruin em by using them.

I believe I`ll slowly order more as time goes on...softness, rolled edgeless design...may be pricey but they are a joy to use buffing after Overcoat application. If I ever drop one on the dirty, nasty ground I might just cry.

9 times out of 10, super soft is super good. But sometimes, they can be good for nothing except final wipe buffing, which is fine if that`s what you want. Are these towels absorbent? Do they remove product with ease or do they jumble up and skip?

Reading the OP, I`d have to say junkman`s "drag across the skin" test is a farce. Closed loop MFT *will* catch on your rough skin and will not feel as soft as open loop towels, but closed loop MFTs are the best at picking up product. Open loop has a "mopping" action and is great with QD and spray wax, as well as final buff.

meh, I don`t mean to ramble, but "feeling" soft is not the single litmus test for quality MFT.

Definitely a final wipe item as I see it. Sure don`t see a need to be using `em to mop compound residue off a sueface.

I got some of the edgeless blue towels from limitless car care and sent one to someone who had the esoteric red and said they looked the same. I have washed mine 10 times or so and they remain perfect. And should be after only 10 washes. I love them for waterless wiping and rinseless washing. Have now used them for qd as I prefer my dmts for that.
