So sad that Jacob`s remains were found, hoping his family and friends can finally have peace. I always hoped that Jacob would be found as an adult, but deep down knew he had already died. Growing up in WI and being roughly the same age as Jacob, this abduction was something I thought about often. I was just talking to someone last week about Jacob being from St. Joseph, MN.

Prayers go out to the Wetterling family and all those living in St. Joseph, MN. I hope there is justice in this case and the person(s) responsible spend the rest of their life in prison. I`m sure the Stearns County Sheriff`s Office and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension have all their resources available working on this case.
 
Heartbreaking.

I`m not sure what is better family wise. Holding a "glimmer" of hope forever, or having "closure".........

Thank you for remembering this little boy all these years and posting his name..
I read up on him - what a nice, sweet looking kid..

Horrible what happened - these things really break your heart..

My prayers are that the Comforter will be there for the Parents, Siblings, the rest of the family - AND all those sweet people`s hearts who were also hurt when they first read this 27 years ago..

One thing for sure - his sweet spirit immediately went to the Heavenly place especially made for children, and he was embraced and comforted by the only one who willingly went through the horror of Gethsemane, and the Cross, so that all children - all people - could be healed and live eternally, even Jesus the Christ...
There Will be a wonderful Reunion someday for this family, and our Savior will make all who want to be healed, whole again...

I really have kept the boy in the back of my mind since I was young. I`m sure in some way it probably guided me in my career choice.

It is hard, because in a way you do want him to still be alive, but hopefully he didn`t suffer too long.

Being only 2 years younger then Jacob and only a 100 miles away, we got a lot more information/updates on this abduction. I can honestly say over the last 27 years I have thought about Jacob hundreds of times. I will never forget Jacob.

I just hope his parents, family, and friends will get some closure/healing. I wouldn`t be the same person ever again if this happened to anyone close. The lose of a child would be devastating, the not knowing is unimaginably devastating.

There is a special place for children who leave us.

Jacob`s killer confessed today 9/6/16 in open court to kidnapping, sexually assaulting and killing Jacob. In exchange for admitting to the crime, prosecutors and Jacob`s family agreed the killer would get immunity in the case. He is still going to serve 20 years in federal court for child pornograghy charges.

Jacob was shot and killed the night he was abducted. It`s horrible that his family had to hear what happened. Very sad and my heart aches for Jacob and his family.
 
Was following a bit on twitter today.....absolutely heart breaking. It`s just so far beyond comprehension why someone would do this. Here`s hoping the scum lives out the rest of his life in pure torture
