Am I crazy???

Have used BlackFire on all my cars for years and LOVE it. BUT.. When I use BFWD and then BFMS wax on my Arctic White 1992 Corvette the BFMS seems to lessen the intensity of the white. Am I crazy (my wife says yes )? When I do the full BFWD and BFMS on my Black 1978 Trans Am, my Black 1987 Iroc and my wife`s Dark Blue Mercedes the wax really makes them pop. Is it because of the light vs dark colors? Also I`m been playing around with Pinnacle Souveran wax as a topper for the BFWD... I think I like it better then BFMS wax.
What are your thoughts and using the Souveran wont hurt the BFWD will it?

Thanks for any help,
Robin

You`re not crazy, BFMS seems to darken lighter colors when I use it. Sometimes this isn`t a bad thing particularly if there is pearl in the paint. I will say that BFCS looks very nice on light colors.

You`re not crazy...products work differently depending on all of the variables. Some paint systems work better with certain products and some of the fun about detailing is finding the jelly for your cars peanut butter. I remember when I used to test every wax, I would park my motorcycle in the same spot in the driveway so I could inspect it from the living room in different lighting conditions and sure enough I could tell a difference.

What was/is your favorite combo for your bike?

For my old 600 I`d say a high quality Carnauba. It`s a custom metallic red and I loved any carnauba that made the flake pop in so sun. I didn`t mine waxing it every week since there`s not a lot of surface area to wax. I remember testing a few different sealants and a lot of them would mute the flake and gave the paint a "flatter" shine. I couldn`t wait to strip that stuff off.

And I can`t find any pictures right now of Wolfgang Fuzion but I remember using that for awhile.

For my Sable it was Optimum Gloss Coat and Polish Angel.

For my current motorcycle I`m still searching :) The soft black metallic parts of the bike demand something thats glossy but doesn`t attract dirt or dust. And the orange parts look like it changes colors depending on the light. I still haven`t polished it yet, but when I do I`ll probably end up with Optimum Gloss Coat again for the protection.

A double coat of Gloss Coat and a coat of opti-seal until it cures. Your bike would look awesome with that combo.

put some FK1000p on that white `vette :)

enjoy dancing beads..

Also enjoy incredible durability, protection that makes bugs/birds a non-issue, and a look that`s stunning on that color.

Easiest recommendation I can possibly imagine for a white car.

Not hating on the BF, but I only like it on colors where I want that "darkening" effect.

I like Souveran, and it was my wife`s fave on Audi silver, but IMO it`s only appropriate for a true garage-queen (I use it on my Jag, which basically doesn`t get driven). Zero protection/durability IME.

Can anyone post a 50/50 of BFMS on dark paint to show the darken effect? or is it so subtle its not possible to capture on video? I know there is a wax capable of actually (seriously) darken the paint... celes...tial..??something?? forgot the name, but it was a huge visual difference. If I come across the video again I will link it.

never really been super impressed with BFMS

I put it on a shelf. I`m not sure which shelf it is. I`d have to look for it.

But, I *do* know where my FK1000p is. That`s on a shelf close to me. And my Poorboy`s...hahaha... on my nightstand. (no, I didn`t name them)

I can vouch for that. Klasse HGSG did next to nothing looks wise on my Mitubishi Outlander Sport but I tried it on my Kia Sportage and it made a ridiculous amount of difference.
And I haven`t even polished the Kia yet.
I did polish the Mitsubishi by machine one time but it didn`t really seem to make any difference in the look of the paint.
