Random thoughts thread

So our club does a backpack fundraiser Drive every year and personally it`s my favorite fundraiser being able to deliver all of those backpacks to the kids that need them.

This year i decided to auction off an exterior detail

Full wash/decon
1 step w essence
Top with reload

And a lot of goodies to maintain it with.

I started bidding at 75 and in two days it is up to 200. I marked the detail at a value of about 200 because I felt that`s about what I would charge if someone wanted that specific detail for the exterior.

Quite frankly I did not expect it to get more than maybe $150 or something I figured people would add $1 here and $5 there but these numbers are bidding well.

By the way im donating all the action $ to our club to buy backpacks for these local kids. Our clubs goal is 1k this year and i am hoping this action gets a quarter of the goal alone. Looks like its headed there!

I just thought it was really cool that these members are bidding above where I thought and i really dont know how much higher it will get, but it doesnt end until june10th i believe.

It`s not really that big of a deal to me to spend the day on the car and do it for free because I definitely don`t have that kind of money to just donate to charity. But I do have a decent skill that could gather money for a cause.

And i guess one more club car I can detail is never a bad thing from a marketing standpoint.

Am i just crazy? Lol
 
I wouldn`t consider any act of donating to be crazy, especially for those less fortunate and even more so for kids. I think in todays world it`s refreshing to see people doing what they can to better people they don`t know. Too many people are self consumed and out for only themselves it seems. Kudos to you, Brandt.
 
That Musk fellow has a lot going on. Could be the Tesla of the 21st century. I want to go solar and Musk has some good small batteries for solar energy electricity storage.
 
Looks like this is the year of the Cicadas up here and they should be emerging any time now. These things are Interesting because they only come out of the ground around every 17 years. I was fairly young the last time they were here, but I remember them leaving their exoskeletons everywhere and being noisy (similar to a cricket). It was almost as bad as the Mayflies that I posted about not too long ago. Here`s a link for anyone interested in more specifics (such as Ray).

That`s actually pretty interesting.

108 decibels is crazy loud for an insect.

I`m not sure if I could or not. I`ve never had the offer and frankly, I`m OK with that! Although you did say your buddy was starting an edible insects business, so should I ship some down to him for you guys to experiment with??

But I`m with Ron, I`ll stick with meat.
 
So I told myself I was done buying things I didn`t need anything else because I have so much stuff I`m never going to use all of it at least. I look at it like trial and error. I tried something, maybe liked to try something else and maybe liked it more. you know how that goes.

So I was just getting my plan for the next half of the week off deciding what I wanted to do and realized besides the box with the Nano in it I have two other boxes coming from autopia and one from poorboys.

And I find myself debating what i will spend the next jobs money on ordering. Lol

All i can think to myself
Hi my name is Brandt and I have a problem. Ha ha ha

Oh and as i typed that a box arrived as i just got home myself. And i honestly forgot what was in it for a moment. Lol

My friends ask me why i don`t want to go to 6th street (Austin downtown) and I say because I`d rather buy $50 in car care products.

to me, its just the smarter option. I think i spend at least 50% of the money i make detailing on buying new products to try or more of what i know i like, like gallons of pb stuff (s &r, s&w, s&g, bs, glass)
 
I was using my Master Blaster Sidekick and thought I haven`t seen a single thread of anything this company makes fail. I`m guessing a lot of people own Sidekicks and some - Master Blasters (me, both)... But nothing this company makes seems to break.
