Is there a chart to match up coatings with paint colors?

I was wondering if anybody has put together a chart that says if you have a light colored car go with these coating vs a dark colored car. I am also looking for the same chart for waxes.
Thanks.

yes I agree. The problem is that I read about waxes/sealants/coatings for black colored cars and waxes for white colored cars but what about us who have medium colored cars? I wonder if a poll can be done on everybody's car color and the wax/sealant/coating that looked the best on their car. There are so many choices out there in products that it is daunting to pick the right one.

There is no chart to my knowledge, but many manufacturers state that their product looks better on certain colors. For example Pinnacle Souvern paste for dark colors and Pinnace Souvern liquid for metallics/silver. Dodo also makes specific claims for colors. I hope this helps.

Some LSP's will darken the paint more then others, this could be a deciding factor in the look but at the end of the day only you can decide what LSP looks best on each color.

Marketing at it's best IMO. ;)

Subjective stuff is hard to generalize, but we Autopians do it now and then in a "broad strokes" sort of way. Noting that I don't really know from coatings...

Maybe it's worth considering from this angle-

My beloved FK1000P generally looks best on light colors in the opinions of most people; Collinite 915 is generally raved about for how it looks on dark colors. (I'm deliberately avoiding taking a position on either of those opinions ;) )

Are there any coatings that might *generally* be considered the same way?

CQUK coating darkened my red jewel tint coat so much I had to polish it off. It actually ruined the look I paid extra for when I ordered the car with this special tinted clear coat.

Prime example of user preference. I love the darkening effect CQ and other LSP's give. :)

That was the kind of general observation that I was thinking of. Reminds me of how BFAFPP darkened Audi silver too much for my taste but is exactly right for other users/applications.
