Sometimes offering advice isnt worth the effort

My daughter bought a used Honda Fit, so I searched around looking for a decent forum to acquire some tech advice. Recently, a newbie posted, looking for advice on safely removing bird droppings on his new Fit. I responded with a procedure typical for us; Spray with a WW, cover with a mf cloth dampened with same, soak for a while, pinch up the residue with the mf, fog the panel and wipe with a clean mf. Of course, I didn't use all the abbreviations commonly used here.
Here's the response posted immediately by one of the forum's "veterans":
"for bird crap i use a synthetic based quick detailer spray, disposable gloves, and a soft paper towel. while paper towels will haze the paint if you scub the surface it is better than having a nice MF towel with bird crap u will need to wash each time... well, imho. i dont have time to be washing towels every day.. and i can polish the light haze during the next sealant application."

Sometimes it isn't worth the effort to try and be helpful.

You can lead a "Donkey" to water, you can't make him drink it...

I'm done with most forums an advice, I've tried. Until people see your work they will always "know" their way is the right way.

Yeah...same story here. I hardly ever post anything at the Panther platform forums any more. Eh, I basically only post here and that's plenty for me.

I try not to offer advice to non car enthusiasts. On car forums such as Club Lexus I offer a short explanation and tell them to visit Autogeek/Autopia.

For people I meet, I just smile and stay quiet unless they are adamant to learning proper detailing techniques.

This is how he says to remove bird poo from a Honda then? .....hahahahahaha

Or just send them to me in the club lexus detailing forum ;) I've gotten pretty good at typing the same answers over and over and over and over and over...
