Perfection !!!!

What do you use on the flat black hood decal?

Re: Rasky's Auto Detailing - High-End Auto Detailing and Premier Coating Installer, Minnesota Metro Area

I'd like to know too.

I used the G tech EXO on the matte decal on my Trail hawk and so far so good.

The trick to it not streaking was to apply a super wet coat so that no part dried before the whole decal was coated. If I did it differently it showed the line where I stopped and started again. Until I figured that out it was frustrating. You need to wipe high spots off quickly as well. It helped to have another set of hands for this step of the process.

Thanks!

The owner actually ordered it with a painted matte black hood, which I coated it with CQuartz Finest too. The owner was worried about it adding gloss but I assured him it would only darken it a little. When he picked it up it was the first thing he noticed and was very happy with the darkening CQF added. The hood looked more grayish and coating it made it look much better, the wheels too. :)

Yeah, the hood did soak up more coating then the rest of the paint and I had to level off high spots sooner. The blue one I did with a matte wrap acted differently and seemed more prone to streaking than this one.

It's pretty good stuff and the price is very reasonable. have to let me know what you think on it. :)

I've tried that CarPro masking tape on a few cars now and I love it. It's not as thick as the 3M tape so I'll continue to use that for masking off headlights, but for polishing paint, that stuff is awesome. I haven't had any trouble with adhesive residue yet.

Re: Rasky's Auto Detailing - High-End Auto Detailing and Premier Coating Installer, Minnesota Metro Area

Fantastic work!!
I am a novice. I would like to learn to use a RUPES 15, which I just got as a birthday present. Living in NJ, there is no one who is here to show me the ropes.
Can you recommend some one in the Tri State area?
I own two BMW's a 2015 428 luxery Coup, and a 2013 328 that needs some work.
thank you

I was thinking the same thing, such a beautiful M5, but those tail pipes are way too long.

Chad it must be nice to work on the coolest cars all the time

Thanks guys!

The tips definitely looked out of place on the M5 and needed to be adjusted, which the new owner actually mentioned. They sure sounded nice though and it was equipped with a proper manual to boot! :)

2010 Lexus RX450h in for a multi-step correction and CQuartz Finest coating application. This vehicle has seen 5 years of regular full service tunnel wash abuse and the owner wanted to get it dialed in after I did his new BMW this spring. No more tunnel washes either. ;)

Tires - Cleaned with Megs D143 and Tuf-Shine brush. Dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing

Great save! that clear coat was horrible and painful to look at.

Wowzers! What a save. That's one of your best turn-arounds. Incredible work Chad!

Re: Rasky's Auto Detailing - High-End Auto Detailing and Premier Coating Installer, Minnesota Metro Area

E46 M3 in for a 1-step "plus" correction and PPF removal. The "plus" part is because I wanted to try the new CarPro Essence sample so I step up my correction step and used Essence as a finishing polish to refine the paint and amp up the gloss. :)

When I finished working late last Saturday night on this car I still had to do the windows, exhaust, and a few other misc items and planned to take full car after pics when I was done. Unfortunately delivery of the car was pushed out to 4 days later and I had forgotten to take after pics with my SLR, so all I have is a few with my iPhone after I was done polishing. :(

Process:

Wash - ONR
Wheels - Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus & various brushes.
Tires - Cleaned with Megs D143 and Tuf-Shine brush. Dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing
Tar Removal - Tarminator
Paint Prep - Nanos Skin Towel and Glide as lube
Paint Correction - Groit's Fast Correct Cream on the G21 with Griot's MF BOSS pads followed by Essence on the G21 with yellow BOSS pads. Tight areas done with Rupes LHR75e
Exhaust - Optimum Metal Polish
LSP - Decided to top Essence with 22ple VS1 at the last minute.

PPF FUN! :)

NOT!

Swirling wasn't too bad, but the paint had lots of staining and water spots

Nice, Love the gloss but now with Essence I am sure everyone will be getting these results right? LOL NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Great job, How much filling are you seeing? Do you still 3 step a car like this or is it 2 plus essence?
