Britemax Detail

A few weeks ago I had the chance to try out some more products from the Britemax line!

A good friend of mine has a 2012 Genesis Coupe which he has modified extensively, and asked if I could help him get his car ready for a big car show that he was going to. Without hesitation I grabbed my detailing bag and headed over.

A few weeks ago his car was in a wreck and was repainted, the body shop left behind a few things (1) Orange Peel & (2) Holograms & Haze
In addition to the swirls the car was filled with swirls, at parts it looked like it had been washed with a brillo pad. Time was short so we decided to leave the Orange Peel and take care of the holograms that were bothering him, and the swirls that were driving me crazy.

This metallic black paint was incredibly difficult to take pictures of while showing the defects. After some 10-15 minutes of trying to take pictures of the holograms on the trunk lid I gave up and went to work.

Products used:
Flex 3401 w/ 4 inch backing plate
Hybrid Pads by Lake Country (primarily the white, with the orange used in a few spots)
Britemax Perfect Prep Fine Polish and Swirl Remover
Britemax Vantage Premium Carnauba Paste Wax
Meguiars Sanding Pads (For headlight restoration)
Pinnacle Black Diamond Surface Coating

Here's the rear quarter panel, you can see plenty of swirls as well as some of the haze to the right of the light.

Trunk lid before - as you can tell this thing was trashed. This was one of the worst spots of the car so I went ahead and used the Orange Pad with the Polish here and got awesome cut.

Much better than before, slight micro-maring left behind but that's to be expected when using a polish with an aggressive pad.

Passenger Side Quarter Panel before.

The Britemax finished down flawlessly with the white pad.

Passenger fender before, coverred in swirls.

Passenger Fender After.

Here were a few scratches on the fender which stook out like a sore-thumb.

I went to town and used an Orange Hybrid pad here with the same polish. After 6 section passes I wiped the polish off and made another 4 passes with a white pad to take out any micromarring.
These only detectible now if you shine a light directly on them. Impressive results for a polish.

In addition to the paint, the aftermarket headlight also had a failing coating which was an eye-sore.

After sanding with 500, 1000, 3000 grit sandpaper and the same polish w/ an orange pad came out perfectly.

The headlights & glass was then covered with Pinnacle Black Label Surface Coating.

After all of the correction was completed I applied Britemax Vantage to the paint. With an awesome coconut scent this was went on and came off like a dream. Vantage goes on very thinly and after applying to this entire vehicle the jar still looks as if it has not been used at all.

In total the entire detail for this car took about 3 hours, including the headlights. For the amount of time and efforet that went into this I would have to say it came out great, here are a few shots that I took this past weekend (detailed the car the week before) and the Vantage wax is still looking great!

Britemax Perfect Prep Fine Polish and Swirl Remover - Overall I was very impressed with this polish, especially the the defect removal- for a finishing polish it knocked out a lot of swirls and also did a great job on some deeper scratches with the Orange Hybrid pad. If you're looking to remove a lot of defects in 1 step without sacrificing the finish this polish is a great way to go.

Britemax Vantage - This Wax exceeded my expectations and was a pleasure to use, due to the coconut fragerance as well as ease of application & removal. I applied the wax with the Flex and it took about 5 minutes to do the entire car. In the high humidity I waited 15 minutes for the product to haze before I wiped it off with a Chinchilla towel. The Metallic Black paint really pops with this wax on top and with a claimed durability of 2-3 months this wax is a real winner. If you're like me and love the looks of Carnuba wax you owe it to yourself to give this one a shot (seriously it's that good).

Great job on the detail and awesome write-up Paul!

I can't believe you were able to do an entire detail on the car including swirl removal for only 3 hours... Heck, that's how long it takes me to wash and clay a car... IDK how some fast detailers do it.. Even if you do the entire car for 6 hours, I still think it's pretty fast...

Thanks Marc! I should add - the car was clayed the week before & washed before I got there, which easily took 1 hour off my time.
The interior was already very clean so all I needed to do there was a quick wipe-down and then applied dressing.

Nice job. Have to give this product a try. Really came out great.

Thanks JT! If you get a chance to try these out I'd definitely recommend it :)

Great work. Hearing nothing but good things about Britemax.

Thanks, same here and all of their products that I have tried have been great :bigups:
