Flushed $250 Down the Toilette Today

When I curbed a wheel for the first time ever.

Wheel will have to be re- powder coated. I'm looking for perfection, not interested in DIY kits.

There are people who do this for a living all day and they dont charge 250 bucks either...
I will try to find their card - they are a franchise and the one I used back in WA could fix about any wheel so perfect you would not be able to find the defect after it was done..
And they would bring a full service truck with all the equipment in it even to dismount the wheel from the tire, and fix it all in 1 shot..

^ Thanks for the offer - I really appreciate it. but I like to deal with Wheel Collision Center in Bath PA - even though their prices are high.

They originally powder coated these wheels "hyper silver" & I'm picky about the match. Mobile guys are just spray gunning the finish - I prefer powder coating.

I feel like I spend so much time cleaning and protecting these wheels, $250 is a small investment to guarantee a perfect match. They're not even "special" wheels, but I'm guessing they are the best maintained E85 M Parallels in the world.

I usually get at least one or two wheels repaired each year do to pot holes, but this pisses me off because it's my own stupid fault. A lot of times potholes are just not avoidable up here during winter.

Last time I had a wheel repaired was prior to driving down to Detail Fest - in March. That was just a bent wheel I noticed while pulling the wheels.

It's just been a bad week.

Those are gorgeous wheels too so I understand the perfection part.
My roadstars on the Z3 M Coupe just finished another season without any contact so it'll rest happy for the winter.

As an aside, do you use wheel woolies to get between the narrow spokes and deep barrels?

No offense intended but it sounds like you're tough on wheels my friend.
 
No, the guys I was referring to can powder coat or spray the original color again, finish aluminum. magnesium, etc...
They have a huge shop and mobile big enclosed trucks to do all the wheels for say - a Dealership or something like that..
But sounds like your have already explored that world and found your guys..
I am sure it will come out just perfect..

Dan .... if you could be so kind as to share that information if you still have it.

I've used Wheel Collision Center as well for my "higher end" wheels with great results. But I have some other work to be be done, and they're not candidates for WCC repair prices.

I have used them for Clients in the past, who wanted everything from road rash removed, or full on re-finish all 5 wheels (yeah, the spare), bent wheels, you name it, and these people always did perfect work...

AWRS is who just about every dealership out there uses and they do a great job. However, Swanicyouth prefers WCC who is actually powder coating the wheels. AWRS does offer machining and powder coating, obviously just not mobile.
 
There is no more a horrible sound in the world than a wheel being curbed.Sorry for your troubles mate.
 
Wife did her MB going thru bank drive-thru took it back to dealership and whoever repaired it did a traffic job. Of course she had to pay for fixing it. $150.00

I use 2 Daytona mini speed brushes to clean inside the wheel. One I keep bent and one straight. Only thing I really use Wheel Woolies for is the fender well.
 
That sucks !!! Nothing worse than having something like that happen when you try so hard to keep things like new.

The "pothole-related" stuff really can be hard to avoid. In my area, we have *lots* of streets where you simply *cannot* avoid them...whole road is just too [messed] up for low-profile tires/aluminum wheels; gotta take the Tahoe or Crown Vic on those roads to avoid damage, simple as that. There are actually relatively few areas around here where I'll take the S8 (35-series tires), just the way it is.

Certainly not new to bad roads. Utah's weather extremes range from 20 below to 110. Unless it's concrete it won't last and only the interstates are concrete. Also no stranger to low profile tires. This all said, averaging up to two wheels repaired annually is a lot of wheel repairs.
