What did you do detailing wise today?

detailed a friend's 2004 infiniti fx 35 with bftpns & 2 coats of bfwd. will try to coat the same vehicle tomorrow with bfms after the bfwd cures and do a half & half of bfms topped and just the bfwd. you may be surprised at the results.

I applied bfms to the left side of the taped hood. the rt. side was just the cured bfwd from yesterday. the lighting was difficult to control, but there really wasn't any big difference in gloss between the two sides. in all fairness, I do know that a lot of waxes will look better after curing themselves for a longer period of time. at any rate, I do find that several coats of bfwd, even an hour apart, does add more slickness and shine and it looks very good as a stand alone product.
I'm also a wax guy and still like adding the extra layer of bfms for more protection. here's a couple of pics with that wet ice over fire look that I like so much.

Trying a test spot to remove any compromised coating and applying Meguiar's Paint Protect.

Used M100 > M205 > SF4500 and removed all polishing oils. Sealed with Paint Protect 365.

Gave her a quick wash with CG Mr Pink, touched up the tires with WG tire gel, and put on another coat of 915, over the PBL v2 and coat of 915 I put on last week.

Tested out some LA Awesome on some tough carpet stains.
It did not really do much good.
I think LA Awesome is better suited for upholstery and not shaggy carpet.

Good thing we coated the whole front with PLB Paint Coating!

Now I just need to send him a comprehensive Rinseless wash kit to use now that he's there and getting settled.
 
you know you're in trouble when you volunteer to detail a neighbor's suv, the hood is in clearcoat failure, the paint looks oxidized and feels like sandpaper when you run your hand against it.
megs d151 to the rescue or at least to help make it presentable. went through an entire block of griot's clay on this one.
