Hammered 2008 Nissan Xterra - Paint Correction & Coating with Premium Interior

KMG

New member
The owner of this vehicle just purchased a brand new F-150 and this Xterra is going to his wife. They were going away for a few days and he asked me to get this back into shape as a surprise while they were away. This thing has had a rough life and was not maintained very well. This is an absolutely gorgeous color once it was finished.

the vehicle was treated with Iron-x while I was cleaning the wheels and tires, and then hit with a strong foam pre-soak before the 2BM wash.

this beautiful color was being totally hidden by the heavy swirling and buffer tails all over the entire exterior.

this is a good picture showing just how much of a difference the process made. the paint looks a totally different color.

the tornador black made easy work of this very dirty interior.

Thanks for looking!

WOW. Good to see another XTERRA dressed to the nines. Great work. That interior was trashed! Interesting to see the solution finish at work on the trim.

Fantastic turn around!! Did you find the Nissan paint on the hard or soft side?
This paint actually seemed to correct pretty easy, so it seemed to be on the softer side.

Yeah the interior was pretty bad. I was supposed to do the interior originally but after seeing it I offered to do that as well. For as dirty as it was it cleaned up pretty easy.

Wow, looks great! How do you like the solution finish?
Solution Finish really seems to work well if the pieces are in very poor shape. However if they pieces are in pretty good shape DLUX would be my first choice.

Awesome job! I love how your camera picks up the shine on the paint.

I need to pickup a Tornador Black soon. Which APC do you use in it?

The Tornador Black is a must have tool if you do much interior work. I haven't done much interior work this year, but last I did a lot of interiors. I use Megs APC @ 10:1 typically, which has always worked great for me.

Looks amazing now. That color is awesome.
Yeah this has to be one of my favorite colors I have worked on so far. This is up there with the paint on the 50th Anniversary Vette I did last month.

Always love working on Nissan and Infinity cars. They correct relatively easy and usually have little orange peel. It came out great.

Great work, do you show the before/after pics to the owners?
Yeah I typically show the pictures to the owner when they pick the car up. I also have them on my facebook page and also on my website.

Yeah the correction was pretty easy on this, however I was not trying to make it perfect due to the budget. There were still quite a few RIDS left in this.
