UPDATED 9/2015: Autopia Polish Comparison Chart

Re: UPDATED 5/2015: Autopia Polish Comparison Chart

Does anyone have experience with editing a PDF.. any free software?
Hoping the PDF isn't locked out. It be great to edit this PDF only keeping the brands I use.

Re: UPDATED 5/2015: Autopia Polish Comparison Chart

Microsoft Word can edit PDF's. I did a quick look using it Adobe Acrobat (editor) it is an image. The properties box said it was created by Photoshop.

Thanks Bunky,
Maybe Ray will at least PM anyone that wants the file before it's the image. Otherwise I'll print every page and cut out the Brands I use.

Re: UPDATED 5/2015: Autopia Polish Comparison Chart

I talked to Steve (Poorboy) regarding Pro Polish and Polish with Sealant. He said they are both pad dependent and with the same pad would have the same cut. The polish chart implies cut 3 for PwS but I assume that may be with a polishing pad.

Yep just PM me with which brands you want and I can make you a custom one. I made this one for a body shop that only uses 3M/Meguiar's products in the past.

I'll PM you that custom one shortly ShawnF350.

Chart updated.

  • 3D AAT Compound and Finishing Polish renamed
  • SONAX EX 04-06 and CutMax added
  • Britemax brand added

I'll have to remake the printable individual PDF's. Coming soon!

Ray, I thought I asked this (maybe different thread); weren't you going to add the new Optimum Hyper polishes? Or are you waiting for them to hit the store?

I knew I was forgetting something. I read through all of the pages on this thread to see any suggestions. I'll have those new Hyper polishes added in the next few days.

The chart is getting pretty crowded at the #9 and #10 positions, with products that, I believe have different levels of cut.

For Example:

M105 = 10

D300 = 9

Have you considered taking the Chart up to #12 to mimic the Meguiar's labeling?

Thought about the same with Menz SC300. On the chart it is a 10, I am willing to think it is more of an 11.

Thanks. This tells me the Finishing Cream probably would not finish as well as some in the lower cut categories like Menz 4000 or 4500.

Is there anyway you could color code or asterisk each compound/polish based on its makeup? Example: DAT or AAT. Thank you for putting in the many hours to keep this chart up to date. Even though I have my favorite combinations it is nice to have this chart as a quick reference. Now if someone could figure out how to quantify pads based on their cutting power and put together a chart we would really be cooking with gas.

That's an awesome idea. +1 on the asterisks!

There use to be some pad charts Todd made back in the day. A lot of them included Lake Country pads.
