Favorite paint color?

As I've gotten more and more addicted to detailing I've started to inspect the paint on random cars and really appreciate the freshly detailed cars I encounter on the road. This got me thinking what's the best-looking color I've ever seen and what color might I repaint my own car... At first I thought black right away because I love the reflections, then I thought about that Hyundai Genisis blue, but once I layed eyes on a freshly detailed Ford F150 with Ruby Red Platinum paint I knew I found my favourite color car paint (for now of course). Why that color you might ask, well because I don't even like pickup trucks (at all), but this one looked so good that I kept thinking of it days later. The color just looks so rich with depth gloss and reflections to die for!

So what's your favorite paint color and why? (Pictures or paint color name would be ideal)

P.S. if anyone has this color paint on their car I'd love to see more pictures.

I'm right there with you 4u2nvinmtl. I've always been a sucker for red. Any type of dark red has always been my favorite because it's dark enoughon the color spectrum to get really deep and glossy, but not as unforgiving as black.

I think it was called Starlight Blue. Came on Dodge trucks in about 98 I believe. Ford had one in the late 70's that was similar. I like most medium to dark blue paints when they have a hint of metalic in them. Like most others I like Blacks and most Reds. Not big on Greens though a nice Forest Green (think Bullit) can be nice. I don't like any of the Desert or Brown colors. I've had a lot of white vehicles and can't tell you that I'm in love with white. These are easy to take care of. My Edge has White Platinum, kind of a metalic pearl tri-coat on it. It's very nice with BlackFire's coating on it. Undoubtedly the best white I've owned.

GearHead_1, if we're thinking of the same blue then that would probably be one of my favorites. I didn't even think about it until I saw your post.

I tend to lean towards black and darker blues. However, GM Graystone Metallic is what's on the wife's Suburban and my brother's truck and it has really grown on me. A really nice color when it shines.

I'm right there with the darker reds too. They just tend to look dripping wet. A flawless black deserves mention too but I still don't think I will ever buy another black car.

My favorite is British Racing Green and of course tan leather interior. I currently have red, silver, and white cars. Can't find too many cars in a shade of green. The closest thing I found was a dark green metallic Nissan Rogue. I hope car manufacturers will start putting more color choices in their car lineups.

Truth is some models just look better in some colors than others. A scarlet red that may look good on a Mustang doesn't cut it on a Town Car.

Not sure I have a favorite but I really like a lot of the "electric" blue colors and some of the metallic tangerine orange colors.

Love the VW blue! :)

I hope car manufacturers will start putting more color choices in their car lineups.

I agree! That's why it was exciting when SRT announced their 1 of 1 program. You can basically order your Viper with ANY color combination you can think of. Every manufacturer should start doing this.

This is easy.

1. Ferrari's Red Rosso Corsa or Porsche's Guards Red.

2. Honda's Aegean Blue Metallic (very similar to VW's post #12 above).

had an 03 f150 that was maroon and was gorgeous when it was clean. now have a silver f150 and just doesn't pop like the deep red truck did.

Tin Roof Rusted Metallic

It is an amazing color. Washing it played tricks on the eyes, it looked like dirt was flowing off. It was actually the paint reflecting in the water. Very unique.

Metallic Black. The metallic makes black livable. Otherwise it's based on the car (as previous posted...red looks good on a mustang, not so much on a lincoln).
