Can 303 aerospace protectant leave any stain on upholstery/fabrics ?

I performed a number of forum searches on this topic, but to no avail.
The reason why I'm asking is because when applying to vinyl, some of it will inevitably get on adjacent upholstery.
I'm concerned about this, so better safe than sorry.

Thanks in advance.

It's not made for upholstery. They have a separate protectant for that. If you spray on your media and then wipe, you won't get it on your upholstery. Don't spray it directly on surfaces. Even when I am spraying it on my media (MF towel), I get out of the car and spray it away from the car then get back in and wipe. I do the same with APC, glass cleaner, etc...just good practice to get in to.

I do the exact same thing you do, meaning I step out of the car and spray it away from the car, onto my MF towel. So we do see eye to eye on this. Even when spraying it on one's media, I feel «some» might get on the upholstery while wiping vinyl trims which for some, are adjacent to upholstery. I wonder if that might leave any stain ?

You're probably okay there. If you are diligent, and it sounds like you are, any swipe against the upholstery should be negligible. Otherwise a little APC, maybe diluted 1:10 (or your favorite upholstery cleaner), would probably take it out with some slight agitation.

Sorry I can't directly answer your question whether it "would" even stain upholstery. All the cars I do have leather except the wife's...and her upholstery is black...so I wouldn't even know if it did leave a stain on hers. :)

LOL, ok I see - it makes sense. I'm really diligent and anal about car detailing.
Would you share what your favourite APCs are and/or upholstery cleaners ? Cheers.

I use Meguiars D101 for APC. Buy it by the gallon. Works well, cheap, and dilutes for various purposes.

For upholstery cleaner, I use Chemical Guys Lightning Fast. It dilutes 1:20 so a 16 oz. bottle goes a long way and it's low foaming and works well with my little bissell extractor. For carpeted floor mats with rubber backing, I will use Chemical Guys Fabric Clean and use a hose because it foams a lot...then I suck up the remaining water with extractor after it is hose-rinsed real well. Many members seem to like Folex also, which is probably similar to Lightning Fast. You can get Folex locally at big box home stores. I think a gallon is around $12.

Thanks ! The above was just what I needed to know about. Btw, I also have the same Bissell extractor.
