Getting rid of smoke in new, to me, vehicle. Please help!

I just picked up a 2011 Ford Explorer limited - black on black. Beautiful vehicle and at a very good price. The bad is that it's seen 60,000 miles of smoking, by one person, in it. Ick.

I am looking to place an order today on items that will help me get rid of the smell. I plan to clean the carpets, headliner, etc. with an extractor this coming Friday. I was hopeful there may be a product you could spray inside that would rid the car of the odor and then another to "implant" the new car smell. Sort of like a "flea bomb" for pets. :)

I read placing coffee grounds in a can in various places in the car will help; so will a charcoal filter and even dry ice.

Any thoughts on the above?

Thanks in advance!

you need to clean every thing from carpet to seats and head liner& hard surfaces a/c vents and cabin filter if there is one

Unless you use an enzyme to clean you won't get the smell out. Most of the smell in soaps and apc are just cover ups.

Go to bed bath and beyond and get the liquid fresh wave, after you cvlean and extract carpets, spray in moist carpets and inside the air vents, also into the intake and let sit over night. Works wonders.
