1998 Ford Taurus 120k miles and never detailed, never had a carpet shampoo and never garaged or in a carport (outside 24/7 for 10 years).

This car needed help and seeing as how it was my moms and I had nothing but time I figured I'd give it some of my TLC...

This car did take alot of my time today in fact a full 8 hours but it was well worth it, the before and afters hopefully will show the dramatic change that was achieved through my hard work.

Process:

Waterless wash (ONR) - stupid water restrictions

Oxyclean/Woolite HOT WATER and 4 oz APC for the carpets and seats

Orange Pad with HTMC polish x2

Z6 wipe down

Blue Pad with CG EZ Creame Glaze II

Z6 wipe down

Meguiars Wheel Brightner on wheels/wells/tires

ZCS applied to wheels

Armor All Extreme Shine applied to the running boards

UPGP Applied

Before

Can you say dirty?

Good job,

I too did my mom's car today. Since it is her birthday and mother's day tomorrow, it was the perfect time.

Nice, I did my mom's '01 accord a week ago (birthday present/mother's day)... I usually just wash it, but I did the interior really thorough this time :D I plan to use an old plumbing van, then move on to her car, to practice once I get an orbital...

thanks for all the comments...I have polished this car once before as a single step last year but my dad stopped me because of the heat and the lack of shade because we were at there house. But this time we met and got some breakfast and back to my house.

To me the hardest thing is polishing because it is so rough and viberates really bad (UDM) but the interior is cake, just mix, scrub with udm and carpet brush and rinse with water and vacuum to clean finish with pro-vac....

edit:

at the right angle you can see some swirls that I couldn't get out and some remaining rids. The swirls on the horizontal surfaces were REALLY deep! I got out 90% of the defects on the trunk, there are some spots that need some love, and for that I am going to spot polish it later...
