I just purshase some glasur wax and the shop had a special offer on zymol hd cleanse pre wax cleaner.

I usually wash, clay, polish, prepsol wipe, seal, wax...

So I was wondering when to use that product? before sealant?

or is it only made for a wash and wax? I am not sure please let me know what you guys think.

Hello

Zymol HD Cleanse is a prep product, it cleans the surface of the car like a paintwork cleaner and lays down oils as well. You apply this after polishing, or instead of polishing if your car is a already defect free or at the point when you are happy.

Will it work with a glaze? Yes but only the right ones, for example Poorboys EX-P would be fine as is a Wolfgang Sealant but it wouldent be of any advantage to apply Zaino or Jetseal over the top as it would probably cause bonding issues or hazing.

By advice to you, is to avoid using a sealant with Zymol. Put simply you have just paid for a certain look from Glasur that is nice. The sealant will acutally disrupt this and not give you the Glasur finish.

Bewarned, HD Cleanse is a bit of a dark ages type product and in serious need of an over haul. Its tough to use and i would apply panel by panel on a Honda Civic size car, of half a panel at a time on anything much bigger. It dries like cement in around 30 seconds!

This is definitely true however, I believe SuperBee has found the answer to the problem. In one of his threads, SB mentions that he will have the applicator pad in one hand and a Micro Fiber in the other. He said be doing a wipe on/immediately wipe off in small sections (I guess no more than 2 foot by 2 foot), HD Cleanse was a breeze to remove.

I use Men PO85RD and follow with Red Moose Glaze then my Zymol. Does everytjing HD cleanse does and more.

Yeah, that technique works very well. The main thing is to not let the stuff dry prior to removing.

I've been doing that lately, too, and have been trying out other pre-wax glazes as well. RMG and P21S GEPC are my favs so far. I would recommend a quick IPA wipedown after the PO85RD, though. I don't like those polish lubes interfering with anything, even RMG.

RMG gives much better gloss than HD-Cleanse does, but HD-Cleanse is a pretty darn good cleaner. GEPC cleans as well as HD-Cleanse does, and is just about right on par with RMG for gloss. Definitely good stuff. It makes black plastic rear view mirrors look darn near brand new. Follow it with a drop of Black Wow for the ultimate look.

Heck as good as my Rotary Rocket looks with PO85RD and RMG I may just keep it like that.

So what you are doing is completly cleaning your clearcoat to a dry state, instead of using replenishing essential oils that will give your car a deep wet look shine? Your relying on your LSP to be the sole protector of your finish? What causes oxidation? Look at some of the neglected car finishes. Just a Autopia thought. Regards

No I usually add glaze like meg #7 or RMG etc... I just don't like how swissvax and zymol have a prewax cleaner specificly to be used with their waxes and I believe that yes, two coat of sealant and wax on top will do the mojority of protection (as glaze etc will just add looks)

I agree 100%. Most prewax cleaners all do the same thing. I am a fan of true glazes and pure polishes Meg 3, 5, 7, 9, 81.

I heard lots of bad thing about #7 but for me at least it works great! especially on black cars the car is so wet that sometime I try to use an LSP that will actually step it down a little.

What do you guys think about how a sealant like jetseal or PB EXP will bond on top of #7 or rmg? also jetseal's directions only advises you to let it cure for 20 min I think... do you guys think an hour is enough to apply wax on top? I usually like to let it cure as long as possible (overnight) but I got a 911 on thursday and only a day to do it I was wondering if I can apply the wax after only let jetseal (2coats) cure for an hour?

Jet seal is an "organically modified Sealant bonded with an acrylic crystalline".... I don't know how Jetseal would work with a pure polish.

CG's directions say "Pour a small amount onto applicator or microfiber pad and apply to entire vehicle in a thin, even coat. Jetseal109â„¢ will bond with clean paint surfaces within 15 minutes. Once removed allow 20 min. time and apply a second layer to assure even coverage. If you prefer, you can apply this product with your PC or Dual Action polisher and a finishing pad. Work at a speed no greater than 4.5 and do not apply pressure. Use a microfiber towel to wipe down when done."

Give it a shot. Whatever happens it won't look bad.

I would strongly advise against using a sealant with any of the zymols IMHBBO (In my honest but biased opinion).

I find that sealants and/ or several products added to a zymol, to my eye, hampers its clarity and depth of shine. If you have found success with sealants then by all means, but I would definitely compare your finish with and without a sealant and with the zymol to see if you notice a difference.

With the hd cleanse, I would use that product either after the clay (the short way by hand), or after the machine prep with a combination of filler free polishes. I would follow the hd cleanse with your zymol immediately.

Good luck.
