Zymol Concours & PC

Hello All, This is my first thread and hope I don't start off by repeating an old topic but I didn't find anything in a search. I have been detailing my 2002 SOM North Face Edition Avalanche using Zymol Concours since new. I would like to know if I can use a Porta Cable Orbital at all for this type product? I also love the HD cleanser and don't know if I can use any of the products from the Zymol line with the PC. Thanks for any Help and thanks for letting me post on Autopia.
 
I'm not familiar with Zymol, but I assume the Concours line is a paste wax. Yes, you can use both your Cleanser and the paste with a pc and find it to be quite easy. If you purchase a pc and intend on using those two products, you will want a finishing pad for the wax and a polishing pad for the Cleanser. Be sure to tape off all the plastic cladding, as you won't be able to be quite as exact with the pc as you would by hand (a good practice, regardless). Enjoy your time here, and WELCOME!

*edit* Okay, I just looked and Concours is one of the "melt in your hand" waxes. I'm not sure about all that--go by your neighborhood Harley store and get a small jar of S100 paste wax. Compare it side-by-side with your Zymol. If you find the S100 to be equivalent (or better), use that with your pc.
 
thinksnow thanks for your help and I love your screen name. Im a snow hound. I will try the s100 and let you know. Im a creature of habbit and didn't know what else to use. I've been a Zymol user for years now and appreaciate you advice. Yes it is a hand applied wax and wasn't sure if I should apply by hand remove with PC! I might need help with adding pictures but I will take some and try to post them. Thank again
 
METICULOUSMAN- Welcome to Autopia! Can't help with the wax, but the HD Cleanse oughta work fine by PC. While I haven't used THAT product, I've used scads of others that are virtually identical and they all worked at least as well by PC as they did by hand. Back when I was choosing between the HDC and Pinnacle's PCL, Irene at TOL said either one would work the same (with the same application techniques, etc.), that they were just slightly different as far as a few ingredients (primarily the micro-abrasives). And I've yet to find ANY product designed for hand use that didn't work fine with a PC. Just don't use too much product or it'll be tough to remove.



As far as removing wax by PC, again noting that I haven't used the Zymol, I currently apply and remove at least four different paste waxes with the PC and they all work great that way. Appropriately soft MF bonnets work very well for removing wax, requiring just a quick follow-up by hand.
