Zymol and Klasse

Previously i had been using all Zymol products cuz thats wut the dealership had. The cleaner that smelt like chocolate and the Japon Wax that was like $60. However recently ive been using Klasse AIO and SG. I still have a a lot of that zymol wax and was wonderin if i could still use it in conjunction with the Klasse products.

Yes, you can use the Zymol on top of your SG. Just make sure you've applied as many coats of SG as you want before topping with wax. SG won't bond to wax.

if the SG doesnt bond to the wax, how do i reapply SG at a later date?

Just wash the vehicle real well with a non-carnuaba/wax/silicone/oil containing car shampoo. The solvents in SG will do the rest. :bigups

I wouldn't go too heavy with the sg. The best Zymol finishes I've seen have been done with the use of good polishes and prep work. The waxes should work fine with the AIO and (if you insist) just a light application of sg.

BTW: That's a lot for Japon. I believe it can be had for less, but Zymols on average are relatively expensive as compared with other products.

Once the wax is on, however, don't put anything except more wax on top of it (very important).

thnx for the help...not many of the people posting use zymol it seems...is it not worth the price or not as good as some other products out there?

There are lots of great products out there. Many people feel they can get results that are just as good or better with other products (almost all cost less). Others love their Zymol and feel it’s worth it. It’s entirely personal.

Go with what works for you. (But don’t be afraid to experiment, it’s fun and you just might find you like other stuff too.)

Zymol has waxes that cost more than some cars. I am an avid user of Zymol's glazes, and as far as my own automobile is concerned (and yes, given proper prep work) I have yet to find a wax in its range that could match its intensity and depth of reflection, optical range, etc. But that's my opinion.

You will need to find out for yourself, however, whether a Zymol is as good or better than what you are using by doing a comparison between it and several waxes, using similar prep methods, and doing an in-person comparison, and using (only if the pics have a clear resolution) good digital photos to compare the response from the finishes of the different waxes.

Lastly, you will need to determine whether the price factor warrants the results from any wax. After all of this analysis fun, then you will be able to decide whether a Zymol is the right product for you.

thats some good advice, thanks a lot...one more thing though about zymol. i live in a warm place and i keep that zymol in the refrigerator....is this not a good thing?

I think that is the recommended way of storing Zymol (refrigerated). I think it may have something to do with its "natural" ingredients.

I haven't found that refrigerating it makes any difference. But my zymols do not see significant shelf time (except during winter) so I might not be experiencing the prolonged effects. My waxes are quite at home in its box on the shelf.

Hi lbls1,

I am also a avid Zymol user of Zymol glazes. Tried details, carbon, japon, concours, and the estate glazes (Destiny, Atlantique & Vintage) in the sampler kits. On the safe side, I always store the Zymol waxes in the fridge (regardless of whether it has been opened or not) and so my family always complain a lack of a shelf. :P

Thanks for the shout-out Andy. One of these days I'll stop being lazy and develop the habit of throwing them in the fridge (as an overwhelming amount of users do this). I was just saying that my glazes have been fine, and in fact the glazes seem to be ready to apply since I store them at room temp.
