ZPC vs Menzerna...

I think that ZPC Fusion is a great paint cleaner with some abrassive properties in it. I do not think it is a replacement for the Menzerna twins. I use it in addition to the two products mentioned.



I must admit that I have not used either since I purchased the big bottles of PO85rd and PO106ff.
 
I have ZPC as well as the Menz Line-up. I feel ZPC has a little more cut then FPII IMO. ZPC has better cleansing abilites. BUT FPII finishes down finer then FPII. I use these products with the rotary. I have tried FPII mixed with ZPC which makes it best of both worlds. I have found the ZPC tends to be a taaaaad bit harder to work with then FPII. Once I run out of my bottle of ZPC I probably wont order another.
 
For rotary I would choose the menzerna twins, but for the pc user, and I do use zpc 99% of the time with the pc, it cuts as much as IP, and finishes down as fine as FPII, and thats even with a light cut pad. If i have a car that has just light or medium swirls, I reach for the ZPC because I can do a 1 step polish on the entire car and finish flawlessly, instead of doing the 2 step rotary, which is more time consuming.



So which is better in looks? For me ZPC is used much more often than the menzerna these days because I find it to be on par, even better, than menzerna FPII or po85rd. The thing that really sells the ZPC for me is that I can wipe it off the panel very easily where po85rd always took a little extra wiping to get off the oily film.

ZPC ($13 for 8 ounces) actually has cost parity with 106ff( $50 for 32 ounces). Nice polish ZPC is but it's relatively expensive and sometimes leaves the "cloudiness" behind. 106ff is more versatile for *me.* Comparing it to FPII and IP isn't really a fair comparison IMO.
 
I think ZPC covers a range in between IP and FPII. The FPII finishes much nicer. I've used ZPC on my wife's silver Caravan. The paint was still pretty new so no serious correction was needed. Silver paint is just too boring warrant a full 2 step polishing so I used the ZPC. I normally just use the ZPC by hand to get the door jambs/sills looking good.
 
I've never used IP but from my limited experience ZPC seems more aggressive than FP2 and some have referred to it as being close to IP. ZPC seems to be an almost perfect 1 step product. Aggressive enough for swirls and finishes down fine-it leaves a fantastick finish by rotary as well . I've had better success with a LC orange pad than a Megs yellow with ZPC using my cheapo RO-I think ZPC works better with firm pads. The only advantage I can see for FP2 might be on harder clears. I think the abrasives are harder than ZPC abrasives.

Thats pretty much the range where I find ZPC to be as well.

When I use ZPC on dark colors I always have to finish with a pass of FPII.

I can't find a reason to buy ZPC again.

I find ZPC comparable to FPII, 085RD or 106FF. IP has more cut than all of the previously mentioned products but needs to be followed up with one. The advantage ZPC has over the Menzerna polishes is less oil and it is easier to monitor your progress and less chance of a sealant not bonding properly. If using a carnuaba product the menzerna may have a slight advantage with the oils but I would rather know everything is gone and not be surprised down the road after a few washes when they reappear. In conclusion the are all some of the best polishes on the market and you cannot go wrong with ANY one of them.



Although I have to say I stopped using IP due to its inconsistancies and being finicky and use 106FF in its place. If 106ff can't do it I go right to 3m PI III 05933.

What pad? Try ZPC with an orange pad or a firm polishing pad and use very, very little product.

For me...It hazes with an Orange pad when I use it on dark colors, I did get ZPC to finish ok with a green pad but if I looked really, really close there was still a little haze.

Maybe it's paint dependant. If you get great, repeatable results from FP2 then keep using it. Experiment with ZPC as I suspect you might be using too much product.
