Ok, I 99.9% of the time, I detail daily drivers -you know, wash, clay, 1 stage polish, LSP and clean the crud off the interior. I keep my own car clean and washed, maybe experiment a little with some nubas, thought everything was good until today. I got to thinking about a post Todd wrote a while back where he said he kept going when most detailers would have stopped, just to get that little extra 5%. I had traded Todd a Flex for his Cyclo and today I decided to use it and some FFII on the green pads to see what I could do with my car. Now, my car is a 08 GTI with black metal flake paint and the only thing wrong was these tiny water spots visable at night under the right lights. Well, the cyclo and FFII took care of them and left the paint the best I've ever seen. Not only that but using the cyclo made me feel good, the machine has almost zero vibration, it looks bulky but it's not. You can one hand it with ease. I can't remember the last time I felt this excited about a detail and enjoyed the experince. I don't know if it was the Cyclo, the break from the typical detail, the results or maybe it was just some voodoo Todd left on the machine that got my focusing on total results instead of just the standard my customers expect. My wife took one look at the car and then afterwards with a coat of BFWD on it and said WOW!! I wanted to tell her about the feeling of pride and love of running the cyclo but she already thinks I'm a little "out there" so I just let it go.

Interesting comment on the Cylco and its perceived bulkiness. I never doubted the quality of the machine as it has been around for a long time, but I did always wonder about its maneurvability. The need for two pads is also a minor drawback for me.

Are you using the Edge pad system with yours?

Cool Beans Junebug

I agree, unless you live in a Coastal State it seems the Exotics(Ferrari/Lambo/Bentley) are far and few between

The Exotics I do have it seems I always get them when I least expect it...Example, About 3 weeks ago, I was dropping off a customers car at the Uphoulstery Shop I use. While I was waiting on my Wife to pick me up(Slow Driver) Another one of my Uphoulstery Shops Customers was there to pick up there Bentley. The Owner of the Shop introduced us and we scheduled a detail.

The car in question however was a Bloody Nightmare. This thing had big black grease stains on all the mats, the Leather was atrocious, the paint looked like someone had been washing with a broom and 3 of the rims were all scruffed up. I spent 12 hours on this car and could've spent 12 more. I swear I've seen cleaner F-350's then this thing was

To answer your question, yes I'm using the Edge system of pads and it's extremely smooth.

Well, got my first Benz, a S500 4matic, black with very minor spider web scratches, it's scheduled for the 12th and I can't wait. I'm thinking SIP with my PCXP, 5.5" orange pad, then FFII with the cyclo and my new fav green pads. The car is in great shape interior wise and the owner is one of those rare owners that appreciates the 5% extra.

Not only that but using the cyclo made me feel good, the machine has almost zero vibration, it looks bulky but it's not. You can one hand it with ease.

Ha. I guess I know why you like the cyclo. I used my new Flex for the first time today..maybe about 4 hrs or so...It sure takes some effort to work it on vertical surfaces compared to a UDM but the effort is well worth it compared to my UDM. I did use it some on the pillars and the rear section with 4-in pads. The vibration is a lot less than my UDM. The PO85RD actually did some correction with a black pad. The UDM did squat.

Glad you enjoying the Cyclo James! They are great tools. Last year I tried to buy the oldest known Cyclo in the world, just to have it, but couldn't agree on a price.

Junebug thanks a million for sharing your experience with us. Todd has a great combination of passion and desire to see a job done as correctly as humanly possible. I think we have many members that are of the same mindset. It is what really separates us from all other communities. Thanks to people like you and all the others, we continue to grow and move forward. Thanks again.
