Lately, I've been thinking that I prefer Z-2 or Z-5 as my final layer of Zaino instead of ZCS. I don't think that ZCS is nearly as slick as z5/z2 and I have been having problems with water spots on my black paint when ZCS was my last layer. The spots are in the ZCS. I'm not saying they are eating all the way through to the clear. What I do like about ZCS over Z5/Z2 is that ZCS seems to make the paint surface look more level after its dried. But I find that I have to regularly apply Z8 to keep up any slickness. I didn't have this problem when I was using Z5/Z2 as the final layer and I was using the Z8 more for the looks not to keep up the slickness. I don't doubt that ZCS is protecting and may actually last 9 months as claimed, but I doubt if I could live with it for 9 months based on how it has weathered for me over the long run. If my car wasn't black it probably would not be bothering me but it is.
The 9 month durability claim I look at in 2 ways:
1. It will withstand damage from environmental fallout and such for that time period.
2. It must be able to maintain its' molecular bond and adhere to the paint for that time period.
So when I've polished the paint (106FF) and wouldn't need to use ZAIO for its cleaning/polishing abilities, does anyone think that ZCS would make the best base layer because of the 9 month bond?
So first ZCS and then x many coats of Z5/Z2 and then Z8. The ZCS bond should outlast the Z5/Z2 layers protection.
I just haven't heard of any people using ZCS first and the others on top. Its always ZAIO,Z2 or Z5 first and then topping with ZCS and Z8.
