going to need your input, if i read correctly 0.5oz should do a WHOLE car.. i know you are suppose to apply thin...but that seems crazy... i squirted big blobs everywhere with the OTC crap...maybe thats why it was always a bizitch to buff off...lol

so yeah, how the heck is this done..or is it that easy, or does it spread easier and thinner with a PC7424?

just curious..

yeah, im gunna have to see it to believe, i obviously used way too much product before, so i will have to wrap my head around less is best

You do not need to use your pc7424, this will force you to use more product. If you have z-6, spray a couple of light mist's on to the applicator pad and used four to five small drops on to pad. Make sure you spread them evenly on to the pad and work the product using no pressure. This amount of product should be enought for a door panel.

Make sure you lightly work it in as well. If you are just wiping it on like a wax you won't get the best results even if you use the proper amount. ZAIO has paint cleaners in it and working them into the paint will noticably improve the appearance.

I wouldn't lean into it :)

Just like Scott said work it into the paint lightly... you don't have to press hard or anything.

And yeah you should be able to do the whole car with that amount. A nice thin layer is all you want, otherwise you're just wasting product that will be wiped away anyway... not to mention it will be harder for you to remove all of the excess ;)

If you are using ZFX with it, mix up 1 oz, and you will be able to do a couple layers.

When you use it for the first time, put it on thin as everyone has said, and do a couple panels. Go back to the start and wipe a finger over it, you will see a thin layer.

Can't layer ZAIO as the cleaners will remove most of the first coat. You can add a coat of Z5 or Z2 immediately on top of ZAIO without the need for ZFX. Only need the ZFX if you want to do more than one layer of Z5 or Z2 in a 24 hour period.

yep 1/2 oz of AIO.. i do however have Z2 for added protection, as well as collinite so i can see which one i like better on top....why not eh..

I find Z-AIO is a little weird, as you use so little that there is virtually no residue to buff off at all. Still cleans extremely well though and leaves a great finish. Personally I prefer to use it by machine wherever possible though.

I prefer a foam applicator like the German applicator when doing the hand areas. Seems to soak up much less than a MF...

I always use a microfiber applicator for LSPs... the foam always makes me nervous that I'm re-introducing marring to the finish.

Yesterday I washed my car twice in preparation for my newly purchased Zaino products. I than used Zaino clay bar , than Z-Aio and 30 minutes later I applied the show car polish and buffed off with buffing cloth by hand.

Although it was shiny, not really what I was lookin forward to. I was expecting that mirror finish. I know the Zaino has that properities but what do I do to get that mirror effect. Is a buffing machine a necessity?

buffing machine is not necessary.

what exactly were your steps? Maybe the z2/z5 wasn't completely dry when you tried to remove it or maybe you put too much on. How many layers did you use?

I'm not a zaino master with only using the product for the first time 2 weekends ago and added another layer this past weekend.

I did the following:

dawn wash

zaino claybar

z7 wash

some paint correction

IPA wipe down

z6 wipe down

z5/zfx x3 with z6 in between and last step

z7 wash

z6 wipe down

z2/zfx + z6

I don't think my black truck has ever been so smooth or shiney. It has the mirror finish you are referring to.

BTW, I only used about .25 ounce to do the truck per pass. the truck is full size.
