So I got a new camera for my birthday:

So far I have just been shooting in Auto mode, but the pics have still been coming out nice. I have to start working with some manual settings, but overall, I like the camera a lot.

On to my car; I usually take the lip kit off for the winter to save the paint but I've been hit twice in the front and once in the rear so why bother :)? I might as well help plow the snow. I will get it resprayed in the spring before I sell her. The paint on my rear decklid spoiler was in nice shape, so I took it off and sealed/touched up the holes. I will swap my stock wheels on sometime this week but as of now, the weather hasn't been all too bad (only 8" the other day :)).

For the combo, I wanted to go with something strong. I took my time on this evening (Saturday) and spent about 5-6 hours getting her 95%+ swirl free. My finals were:

-PB SS&S Wash with pressure washer
-No clay needed
-Menzerna PO 85RD via rotary and LC Finishing Pad @ 1500 rpm x 2-4 in some areas (tried Z-PC before but it was a bit too much cut)
-Z6 wipedown
-Z5 (ZFX'd) x 3
-Z8 after each Z5 layer

-PB Wheel Sealant x 2 on wheels
-Zaino Z16 on tires
-Z8 on glass
-Flitz on exhaust and rear license plate frame

This is how I started off :(

In the garage (notice the staining and dirt from the spoiler plus the marring on the rear decklid)

Questions? Comments?

It's hard to beat ZAINO on Red!!!!!

Looks great!

Have you tried Z-PC yet?

I'll be trying it next week after I receive my order.

The roads down here are full of salt/sand too, so don't feel bad. Just be glad that you don't have to deal with black!

Zaino looks very nice on the Teg and your new camera takes nice looking shots.

The rear spoiler removal & clean up looks like a project.

Now for the questions:

Why do you use Z5 instead of Z2Pro, and do you have to mix ZFX after each coat or just for the first coat, and then again if you apply more than 3 coats? ZFX is EXPENSIVE!

What are you using in the winter for leather protection?

What do you plan to use to maintain your paint during the winter?

Thank you everyone.

Lee: I am still playing around hoping to get better pics :).

jay: I kind of like it wingless, too. It looks a bit more sleek.

Bill: Z-PC is a very good polish. It cuts a like Optimum Car Polish. I tried various pads/speeds/passes and at the end I had a very faint hazing from the rotary. I'm sure by PC this product is outstanding, but on my soft Honda paint, I don't stand a chance. I will be trying it out on other paints in the future.

John: I had an interior detail yesterday and my car looked yuck by the time I got there (10 min drive).

Z5 gives a touch more depth than Z2 Pro, hence liking it better on dark solids. I mix 4 drops of ZFX in with 1 ounce of Z5. Including the doorjams, I used about 3/4 of an ounce after 3 layers. I had to chuck the rest :( due to the ZFX content. That little ZFX bottle should give you ~20 drops.

I have the leather stuff you gave me, on right now, topped with 303. I will be switching over to Z9/Z10 this week though.

I plan on getting some more Z5 on there. I'd like to go to 6 layers total of Z5 and just maintain with Z8. As per our PM, Z8 is an EXCELLENT QD/spray sealant. I love it on glass too...Talk about no streaking, even in cold weather.

Looks Great sean!! What do you do about the holes in the trunk? I have some zaino samples on the way (thanks cwcad) and am looking forward to trying it!

Greg

Pics look good, I wish I could get my camera to take some better pictures (might just be the operator!). As with all the other work I've seen of yours I'm a little jealous of the awesome shinny-ness and reflectivity you've got goin' on there!
