Zaino...

Hey guys,

Im thinking about trying Zaino for the first time. It seems to be spoken highly of here and the testimonials I have read are great.

What if any of their products would you recommend I buy. The way the web site I looked at tonight makes it sound, is you only need Z2 Pro, Z6, and a claybar and thats it..... maybe....

Please give some pointers here?

Thanks for any help.....................................Chris :D

Please, don't cross-post. I've merged the two threads to this one. -- Tort

You can find other clay bars cheaper.

I recommend z5/z2/z8 and maybe z6 for quick touch ups. That's all I use from them and all I will ever use from them. I also use the zfx when needed.

I use almost all their products and love them all.

For the basics get Z2/5, Z6, Z8 - You cannot pass up Z8, its insane.

I also really really like ZAIO

For dark color cars.. get Z-5pro

For light color cars.. get Z-2pro

Get both if you insist.

I would get either Z-2 or 5pro, Z-6, and Z-8.

Z-AIO would be in my shopping basket as well.

The kit is a good way to go.

Z7 Wash

Z18 Clay

Z-PC on the pc for your swirls/mars

Z2 Pro to seal

Z6 for touchups

Z8 for a spray sealant after washes

Z16 on tires

I use those products all the time.

ZFX when you are doing more them 1 coat a day or for your first application.

You can also use ZAIO before your first coat, but then only do 1 coat a day after that.

They all work great and are really outstanding products.I have used all of them. A great combo is ZAIO,Z5 or Z2 then topped with ZCS then Z8 wipedown next day .

Hi,

If your not going with ZAIO or the ZFX just make sure, after you polish there are no oils on the paintwork. Things like Megs #80 would need a cleaner over them before you applied Z2 or Z5.

Yep, that's what I use on my truck. I do both Z2 and Z5 though.

Just remember.. Z-8 is the finisher (last step) You'll be amazed once you top Z-8 on cured Zaino polish.

Gumball,

If you'll tell us what vehicle you are detailing (year, color, interior material) and the condition of the glass and finish, we can be more specific. I use Z-AIO, Z-CS, ZFX, Z-2, Z-5, Z-6, Z-7, Z-8, Z-9, Z-10, Z-PC, Z-12, Z-14, Z-16, and Z-18. But I've a variety of different cars to maintain all with different needs. I could cut the list by 1/2 - 3/4ths for any single car. Right now our household comprises a 1977 Excalibur, 1985 VW Quantum Synchro, 1991 Buick Reatta Convertible, 1991 Toyota Camry, 1995 Corvette, 1997 Ford Crown Vic, and a 2002 Lexus 430; each requires a slightly different detailing program, hence the need for so many products.

An excellent starter set-up should consist of:

Z2P(higher gloss) or Z5P (minor fine blemish fillers)

ZAIO (negates the need for ZFX and no longer available Z1 as bonding agents)-cleanses paint , enhances gloss and deposits a layer of sealant protection.

Z8 (spray sealant that can be used after every wash or two to enhance appearance in terms of protection, gloss, depth and wetness).

Hope this helps

Man, Z1 no longer available, eh? :aww: And I just gave away two ounces to a friend. Will have to horde my stash. Yes, I do have ZAIO. :buffing:
