Zaino ZFX

Intercooled

I put a coat of Z2 on my H2 this past week end. Usually for just one coat I use it right out if the bottle On a newly washed surface which has multiple coats of Z on it already.( whch is perfectly fine according to the Zaino directions.) This time I added the ZFX. Now it seems to me that the surface has a bit more gloss and is far slicker than just my usual Z2 coat straight out of the bottle. Is it me or do you Z users notice the same thing. For now on I'll add the ZFX every time. :bigups

Ohhhh I didn't know that. Thats interesting, I always assumed it was just a drying excellerator.

Well I have a little more respect for that tiny droper bottle now! :D

It makes a noticeable difference!!

I like using it, but it becomes a pain to do it for just one coat. I usually use ZFX with 2+ coats. I have used the Z2 without ZFX and it looked very good to me. I really couldn't see that much of a difference, but I was not really paying attention.

All in all ZFX is very good and like others said, it adds more things than just cure time.

I always use ZFX for the first 2 coats. After polishing, I mix up two ounces with ZFX/Z2Pro and put on two layers. After that, I use Z2Pro alone, just giving it extra time to dry.

That was my normal protocol, but now I will stick with the ZFX for all and any coats!

I think 2 coats could lest a year though, with monthly mistings of Z8.

Zaino is pretty boring for me. I just wash my truck, dry it, and it looks like i spent 15 hours on it....whats a guy to do?

I think that may contribute to what Intercooler noted. Most products don't look their best or have maximum slickness until they completely cure. If ZFX'ed Zaino cures nearly instantly, it would achieve maximum slickness and appearance quickly. For example, I applied Collinite 845 to a Hummer last week. Looked good, reasonably slick. When I washed it today, it looked better and was much slicker than when initially applied. Seems that when using ZFX, no wait for the look or slickness!

For the record, I have only used Z2 Pro + ZFX and it was definitely very slick right off the bat.

it seems as if a lot of the newer polymers improve their looks over a period of several hours or a day

i've definetly noticed this with z2pro, i was really mad the first time i used it but i remembered someone saying that on here. so sure enough i garaged it, checked it out the next day, and was much more pleased.

Was that with or without ZFX? When I used Z2 Pro w/ZFX on my brother's van, it was slick, wet and reflective right off the bat.
