Zaino vs Carnauba Durability

Hello all,

Looks to be more people than usual complaining about Zaino lately. Leads me to a question I hope you all can help with.

Seems to me the only advantage that Zaino has over Carnauba is longevity. The down side seems to be lots of added work such as 6-8 layers of Z5 to even begin to cover even the slightest bit of marring. The work involved to reapply many layers of Zaino should the need arise to pull out the DACP to remove a scratch or some other marring.

If I wax my car once a month does Zaino actually provide any more protection during that month than a good Carnauba like S100?

Thanks in advance for any light you can shine on this for me :)

If you want your cake and eat it try Collinite it is the longest lasting carnuba wax. If you want your paint to look its best use P21s S100 or Pin. Soverign . You can also get great results with Klasse

I have tossed this around for a while now and I think what I am going to do is go with the VM/S100 combo for most of the year and use Zaino for the winter months. I think this will give me the best of both worlds and let me have my cake and eat it too :)

My main question though is not really about longevity as I know Zaino and other polymers have a lock on that. My question is rather the durability/hardness of the finish :wall. During a one month period would Zaino offer any more protection in that area than Carnauba.

Thanks :)

Being that carnauba naturally evaporates, as well as gets eaten off by everything, I would think a product such as Zaino which offers full protection for months would give better protection for a 1 month period.

If it protects for that long, it's working a lot harder from day #2-on than the carnauba which is already dissapearing.

My $.02 after seeing my carnauba dissapear religiously month after month, revealing that famous but somehwat sterile Zaino shine.
