Can i use Z6 then Z8, & can i put on more than 1 layer of Z8.

I read Z6 & Z8 are interchangable, & do not use Z8 straight before using Z-CS, but can i use Z6 straight before i use Z-CS.

sure, z6 is really just a cleaner (a bit more than that, but not much). i either wash vehicle and then put on z8 or i simply use z6 to clean vehicle (if it isn't too dirty) then put on z8. i'm not sure z8 really layers, but if it does, i'd wait 12 hours between to allow it to fully cure.

Yes Z6 before Z8 is perfectly okay on a "clean" vehicle. Z6 is not a waterless wash QD. It will clean smudges, fingerprints and low mineral containing water spots. Anything beyond that deserves a wash.

Z6 is a wonderful QD to use but only on a "clean" vehicle. To avoid surface marring only QD a clean vehicle.

If in doubt always wash prior to any finish manipulation. The extra shine, gloss, and protection is not worth marring the finish.

I think I'm repeating myself but I mean to stress this point. :D

I would not layer Z8 but use after each wash if you like or after Z6'ing a clean vehicle.

How about when using Z8 as a replacement for Z6, & you put on 3 layers of ZFX Z2, & use Z8 before/after each layer.

Can this be done, as it means putting on many layers of Z8.

Thanks everyone for expanding my Z knowledge.

You can use Z8 between all layer if you desire. I normally just Z8 between the last 2 layers and Z6 between the 1st and 2nd. For the 1st 2 layers I do moisten my applicator with Z8 in place of Z6.

Don't be afraid to play around with as many combinations that you can think of. Zaino is extremely forgiving.:2thumbs:

I have a good question... How come you CANNOT apply Z-8 prior to Z-CS? What is the outcome?

I just applied Z-CS yesterday, after I did 2 layers of ZFX Z-5pro on friday, and today when I get home, I'm doing Z-8 wipedown.

You can apply Z8 prior to CS and I do it all the time. The catch is you must allow the Z8 to cure prior to applying CS. I usually wait 12-24 hrs even when I add 1 drop of ZFX (to 1 oz of Z8) to the Z8.

Another question for the Zaino pros

I have a "Khaki" color Jeep. Should I be using mostly Z5 or Z2 on this color? It's not bright but it's not dark.

In the above picture I did 2x Z5 + 2x Z2 and noticed the flake went flat looking but had decent gloss.

I think people read too much into whether they should be using Z2 or Z5...If in doubt I would just use CS, looks great on all colors, will not mute flake.

I'd just go with Z2 and maintain with Z8.

Neither product should mute the appearance of metallic flake but of course each of our vehicles are different. Since you have both Z2 and Z5, I would experiment with each alone on adjacent panels. Observe which you like best or if there's even a difference.

Another technique is to apply a layer or two of Z2 first and then top with 1 layer of Z5. By this process one is skewing the final appearance more towards Z2's "brightness" but still adding Z5's depth enhancement and minor blemish hiding abilities.

I agree people do read too much into it. I have found that Z2 pro& Z5 pro do something different but when used together ( Z5 then Z2 ) you get the best of both in looks and durability.

I have found some products that mute the flake on my paint and also darken it.

This is not the case with Zaino.

You can't go wrong with ZCS IMO nothing comes close.

I also agree Z8 needs to cure before topping.
