Zaino success on new VW GTI

I was a Klasse AIO/SG user on my silver VW, but I have a friend w/a black Zaino'd Chevy Trailblazer, so when I got my black pearl (metallic black, forgiving on dust) GTI, I decided to go Zaino.

I'm very pleased. Tough stuff. This is 2 coats of Z5 and 5-6 coats of Z2.

The line on the hood is 3M paint protection...worth every cent.

Cheers!:up

Nice job:xyxthumbs

Look another Zaino/paint protection film user :D

Did the same to my SC430! Yep, worth every penny! Have front bumper, hood (wrapped) headlights, fender by headlights, rocker panels, side mirrors and door cups done. Pic:Armorgloved SC430

I topped my Zaino recently with Souveran Paste. You REALLY want to see a difference? Put THAT on your dark finish and be amazed! Then, pick up some Megs FD (Detailer line) and use that as a QD. Killer combo!

Great job JMan.. I have a black Zaino'd VW also ... Like Danski says try a topper on it .. If you can't afford the Souverin try the S100 .. I had neither at my disposal so I topped with #26 which sounds like 3rd choise and even it made a BIG difference.

Yea, I know it sounds odd, but give it a try! Megs #26 is no slouch for a good carnuba! Or as Jesstzn said, try S100 which can be picked up at most motorcycle shops.

Then, get your hands on some Megs FD or Clearkote QS!! Best QD's out there!

Or, stay with Zaino and keep it up with Z6 as you add more layers!

If you do wax, and want to add Zaino again, strip the wax. A good way is Megs APC+ at a 64:1 ratio or alcohol/water mix. Then add your Zaino.

I have to tell you, adding a high-end carnuba on a dark Zaino'd car is just the wettest thing you can look at, more depth, more shine.. If you can get your hands on Souveran Paste, i'd use that on a dark finish. For some reason, it just makes dark finishes glow!

Deanski

Thanks for the information.

Whomever answers the phone @ Zaino (before they went Ecommerce, finally) was very adamant...to the point of getting just a little bit ticked off...about NOT topping w/waxes.

He told me that some Zainoer's think it adds "warmth" to the finish, but he made an analogy of two people w/the same haircuts...one puts greasy hair stuff in his hair, the other doesn't. Yes, it'll look shinier, but it's actually a mess.

But he's not selling wax is he?

How about Blitz as a topper? I've really liked what it's done for me on other cars...plus I have plenty of it.

Thanks all.

#26 over Z is definately the best results I've ever achieved- both are so easy to work with, and buff off.

I'd like to rry S100, but the horror stories of poor S100 longetivity scare me.

S100 - P21S is not Zaino but it last some time. I don't have any problem with longetivity. I know is a wax and it will last like other waxes. 6 weeks - 3 months IMHO.

The person answering the phones was probably Sal Zaino himself.

Did you think to ask him WHY you shouldn't top Zaino with a wax?

Most people buy Zaino because of its superiority in durability, reflectivity, and slickness. Topping it with a carnauba eliminates two of the three benefits of Zaino, and it could easily diminish the third. Obviously the folks at Zaino Bros understand this intimately so I think you can understand why they're against topping their products.

I'm using AIO/SG x 5/#26 x 2 and so far so good! A recent winter pic. Car doesn't look as good cause the picture is 1/3 of its original dimensions and only 40% quality to load up (original was 1.7 mb!)

My winter wheels are Sport Edition Valore 16x7 (18s are off for the winters in OH).

Maybe if folks didn't waste pixels on sky, trees, and road/grass, the pix wouldn't be so big. Cropping is our friend! :D We have a lot of dial-up members, and I'm one of them. When I wait many, many seconds, and all I'm getting is sky and sky and sky then trees and trees and trees, I just hit the "kill" key and move on to the next thread.
