Zaino-PC + UDM + Fine Swirls Question

Howdy All! I own a 2007 Accord Coupe and want to keep it looking perfect, so I recently purchased a UDM with DAS Foam pads from this site. Today I decided to try using my UDM + Orange SwirlBuster pad + Z-PC (I have used other Zaino products for years, but first time with UDM) to remove some water spots as well as some light swirl marks. The combination worked well and I was able to remove the spots and swirls, but upon closer inspection I noticed very small and very light swirl marks where I had just polished. From a foot or so away, the tiny swirls are not even visible, but if I move the car into the sun and get right up on the paint and stare into it, I can see them. I can only describe them as tight, circular swirls that are very fine - so fine that I may not be able to photograph them to show you.



My questions are: 1) Have other Zaino users experienced this when using Z-PC by machine? 2) Can anyone tell me if the tiny swirls are caused by the polish or the pad or both? 3) Should I be using a less-aggressive polish on my almost brand new paint, such as Z-AIO, to keep it in perfect condition? Feel free to ask questions if I haven't provided enough information. Thanks for all the help!
 
It doesn't sound like you went over the car again with a white pad. The orange one is aggressive (or at least it is in my LC series). The orange pad will leave marring in your paint. Sounds like you're on the right track though!
 
Thanks for the reply P1et. It sounds like I want to use a softer pad to go over that section again to get rid of the marks. I'll probably pick up some ZAIO soon and use the green or blue DAS pad that came with my UDM since the white DAS pad is more firm.
 
I've had very good results with an orange pad, DA and ZPC on a range of paint hardness. The results speak for themselves.

Yeah, ZPC and orange pad usually works great. You may have not worked the polish enough. Once the polish has been broken down then finish of with very light pressure. Unless it is black or other dark paint you should be able to finish off swirl free with the orange pad.
 
ZPC with orange, follow with ZPC with White and then use ZAIO on a black or white pad. Don't use ZPC with a finishing pad. It won't break down correctly.

So if I understand correctly, I should start with Z-PC on the orange pad and then follow it with another pass of Z-PC on a slightly softer pad (white, or in my case green - I have the DAS pads). And then follow that with a less-aggressive polish (ZAIO) on either the white or black pad (green or blue in my case). I'll give this combination a try and post some photos as soon as I get my ZAIO in the mail. Thanks again wannafbody.
