zaino leather...hows it smell

ive tried a few leather scented dressings and not been impressed with the smell...imo they kinda smell like a old classic car would not a newer fresh smell

so how is the smell? and how well does the dressing work...i prefer a matt look not oily/glossy

Steve, I assume you prefer the leather odor. If so, I'd suggest giving Griot's a try. I don't suppose you can pop 'round to Halfraud's for these products and don't know what you have easy access to.

The Leatherique combo also offers a strong leather odor and leaves the nicest matte finish of the lot.

ive just done the seats with leatherique and i like the finish...not sure on the smell though :( and its v expensive to import:soscared:

nah halfords doesnt have alot..just autoglym and a few meguairs bits

If your surfaces are in top condition, the Griot's would likely suit you. That pint pictured above was $US14 not including shipping. The leather odor is the strongest I've experienced. It will be too much for some. I'm going to tell you it finishes a bit glossier than the Leatherique.

The Zaino product is decent, but I find the odor is gone within a few days.

I love the leather scent of Z-10 but purely as a leather conditioner it isn't any better than the Turtle Wax Leather Conditioner I also use that costs less and can be found anywhere. That doesn't mean Z-10 doesn't do an adequate job conditioning, it does, as does the Turtle Wax product. I just don't think it is worth the premium price just for the scent...but yeah, it smells really, really good. ;)

If you want a leather conditioner that will noticably soften leather better than anything else, try Leather Master's Leather Vital. It is one leather conditioner worthy of its high price ($60 a quart!).

I didn't care for the smell of Leatherique in the bottle, so didn't buy any. Tried Megs., didn't like the smell. Tried 4 Star, HATED the smell, returned it. Tried Zaino, LOVED the smell, but it's TOO strong. My routine is now to clean and condition with scent-neutral Lexol and then re-condition a small area with the Zaino for the scent. It's no or low sheen, which I like.

This is in a two year old Cad. which in theory has its own scent impregnated leather. That could be the reason the Zaino is too strong for me; the cleaning and conditioning may be releasing enough of the original scent because the interior does smell as it did new. Others have reported that they use Z. everywhere, which would be overpowering to me, and that its scent lasts just a few days whereas in mine it's good for a month or so.

If I were using it everywhere I'd try to find a more economical alternative, but used like a dash of aftershave it's perfect for me :)

do you have a link for leather masters?? i googled it but it brought up adult sites:rofl

I also tried Zaino Leather in a Bottle and it smells better then meg gold class or lexol. I dont fine the smell strong...it like a faint clean smell.

Right after application of Z-10 I let it dry a a few hours I come in the car and the smell is nearly gone. It doesn't last like most people say. I don't care though, I don't want it to.

I have not found anything that smells better than Zaino Z10. I think a yearly Leatherique and monthly Z10 application is the perfect regiment for leather.

Griots spray also smells nice but does not last as long as the Z10 does but works great for a quick freshen up of the odor.
