Zaino CS - Thoughts and Perspectives Compared to other sealants>>>

I have show cars and have been using Zaino for years exclusively and with success. I am debating on trying the Z-CS and wanted some thoughts and impressions for this expert group. I have on average, anywhere from 20-40 coats of Zaino on my show cars before I strip them and start over. Will I see the effects of Z-CS or should I just stick with my traditional Zaino routine?

Current practice is:

Z2 Pro or Z5 depending on the need and micromarring

Z6

Repeated as time and interest allows

Grand Finale wipe down before a show

Cars do not get wet thus the only 'wash' routine is bug removal in the form of spot washing as the need arises. Cars get paint correction from minor marring as needed as well using the Porter Cable and Klasse AIO or Poorboys SSR products.

Thoughts appreciated.

Not sure which version I had of CS (its been tweaked a few times from what I've heard), but it added nothing in terms of appearance. Side by side with Opti-Seal (original version), it was no contest. Opti-Seal looked significantly better.

Better off just using Z8 if you want more pop.

Just FYI, there are a lot better polishes out now than Poorboy's SSR line. Meguiars, Optimum and 3D all have really excellent polishes that correct and finish better. :)

I prefer Hyper Polish (the spray version), really works great on medium to hard clear coats. If you have soft paint, 3D's HD Polish is pretty amazing.

Like Scott said, spend the time with a finishing polish. Time better spent than 40 layers of Sal's tears... I mean Zaino. Actually Z6 looks great no matter what is under it. I was a huge Zaino fan until I noticed the etching problems and I found I could get the same looks if I used Z6 or Z8 with whatever base underneath. Zaino development has completely stagnated and the industry caught up and passed them long ago. You can pick up a consumer wax like Megs Ultimate and get better looks than Z2 or Z5 in one layer. And especially if you are a show car guy, playing around with different QDs is where its at once the paint is otherwise perfect.

If u are using Zaino and are happy, I'd continue w that route. Z8 is still the longest lasting and best looking spray sealant on the market.

Thanks Scott - I always appreciate input.

zaino is a great product fusion is good and z-5 is a great polish. me personally use a wolfgang or 3m for paint correction on a customers car then wash with dawn soap. Then ill apply the polish and seal it z-cs is a great sealant but unless its my personal vehicle I wont be using every step of zaino. Sal even told me to use a different paint corrector then finish with his polish, so he was not sitting there pitching his product to me. For your bright colors that you want to make pop and enhance the color the z-2 is awesome I have found others that does a great job also. Zaino is very durable and that is what I like about it.

I have to second what Dan said.   I used Zaino for years and finally switched a few years ago to Duragloss products--found I could get the same look with much less work and cost.   Dan turned me on to Megs Ultimate Liquid Wax (really a pure sealant)---great look with one coat and topped with Z8 I bet it would be fantastic.

Edit: Forgot to mention--had tried ZCS for a time, but stopped using it as it never added anything to the looks or durability.
