I have a 07 dark blue metallic Camry SE and my mother just got an 06 silver metallic Civic

and looking for something that will give the most metallic pop and good durability.

I have used zaino in the past and liked it but not the pro versions.

Can I get your opnions?

I'm a big fan of Klasse SG...4* UPP is great as well. Never tried the Zaino line but I'm sure it's as good or better than the previous sealants mentioned.

i started w/ Zaino (been frequenting autopia for a few months) and recently tried 4* UPP/UPPS and Duragloss AW products. if you do not already own any of these products, i'd say try out UPP/UPPS or Duragloss first. why? cost and diminishing returns, if you ask me. i LOVE Zaino, but i'm quickly learning there are other products out there that can get you 90%+ of the durability and appearance for a much smaller cost.

bottom line: you won't go wrong with any of the products mentioned...just up to you regarding budget and time you have to invest in it.

Zaino and Werkstatt are pretty close as far as metallic pop. Zaino is a little easier to remove in my experience.

Any of the above mentioned products should serve you well.

What didn't you like about the pro version of Zaino? I only ask because I find Z5 pro and AJ to be pretty similar in appearance. It sounds like UPP might be more up your alley, or something like EX-P.

Never tried Zaino or Duragloss, but I've tried AJ, and I think it is a great product. Leaves the paint very glossy and slick, durability is pretty high as well.

sorry i just meant i hadn't tried the pro versions

I am leaning toward the AJ right now Id like to try prime strong with it

will prime strong remove any light DISCO?

I'm really pleased with the Werkstatt line. Superior wet gloss to any other sealant I have tried, very easy to use once you get the hang of it (super thin application) and durability is on par with Zaino.

PS will remove very light marring; like drying marring. It's similar in cut to pre-voc AIO. It is, on the other hand, a remarkably good chemical cleaner and sealant-base. Of the sealants you initially mentioned PS/AJ is my personal favorite, it still has a "sealant" look about it, but like Z5pro its a little deeper that most and of course it's incredibly slick and long lasting. Probably my favorite thing about it is, like Zaino, the gloss does not diminish for quite some time. The only criticism I have of it is that like Zane and Scott mentioned you have to be careful about super thin application or it can be a little difficult to remove.

thanks for all the replies

should i get AJ and trigger

AJ for the original basecoats and trigger for upkeep?

To me there is no difference in the appearance and durability between AJ & AJT. Actually AJT is much easier to work with. Both give excellent gloss.

Although IMO Zaino is number 1 by a long shot , JW stuff is excellent. I use it on my wifes van and it really makes the metalic pop. On the other hand I have metalic red Mazda and Z5 pro makes that pop and looks incredible. I can't tell you how many compliments I get on my car with the Z5 pro.

JMO the DG stuff is not in the same league as Zaino or JW. Its ok much like FK1 . To me there flavors of the month.

I also don't agree on this money issue since Zaino last so long and is much easier to maintain. IMO you save money in the long run. I am only on my 2nd bottle of Z8 and I use it every week since it came out. sometimes a couple of times during the week.

I got just under 4 months out of 1 coat of prime/AJ before it started to loose some of its slickness. The car is garaged, gets QEW washes 3-4 times a month and either Z8 or HGAS applied 2-3 times a month. I was hoping to get 6 months with that maintance. I did a coat of AJT and it improved the looks a noticeable amount. So my opinion would be 4 months if garaged with AJ.

Before the Z2pro and Z8 came out, I had 3 coats of Z2 on my work car at the time. It went a good 5 months before it lost slickness. I parked at the airport for over 40 hrs/week.

I think on darker colors you are gonna have to top AJ with CJ or another carnuba to equal the looks of Z5pro.

My vote goes to Duragloss. Use the PBA 106 and TPP 105. You won't believe how easy this stuff is to use. I did my first detail and this was a breeze and the car looked super after. The beading is awesome.

i ordered acrylic jett , trigger and acrylic glos

I would have tried duragloss if i could find it locally but the napa and carquest here dont have any

+1 DG. Great looks (very comparable to z5, haven't tried Prime, but, based on some feedback here on its durability, I think I will stick with DG and Z), easier to use, great on dark colors (I have black, and dark red). Z5pro is better for fillers it has, but I plan on using a PC to remove swirls (I don't like temp fixes). Note, IMO these are all great, and I really mean it, LSPs so use what makes you :getdown .

Where are the pics ashsarna of the vehicles with the Zaino and Duragloss.

HaHa, You will notice that in the last 6 years I have not put one pic of my cars on this or any other site. No digital camera :o , plus I truely believe that one can't get a good idea by a pic (imo all pics look great if prepped properly). One needs to actually see in person to get a true valuation of a lsp comparison. Hehehe, even then I need to sometimes pay careful attention. Now that we have a new baby that will change (and pics will arrive). I play with different lsp all the time, I had zaino samples on the black car ~3mnths ago and DG over a mnth ago on the same car.
