Z3 on a clear??? Interesting observation may have been noted in another thread

Does anyone know exactly what makes Z3 different for non-clear coated finishes?

4DSC stated something in the "No clear coat" thread that made me wonder in that "clear coat safe" might mean it doesn't have harsh abrasives.

Is it possible that Z3 contains additional abrasives to deal with non-clear coated vehicles.

If so, would that be advantagous to someone with minor swirls or micro maring by applying Z3 with a PC DA?????

Is it possible that the Swirl Remover that Sal is currently testing is just Z3 in disguish or slightly altered?

Has anyone tried Z3 on a clear?

I'm not 100% up to speed on Zaino, but I always thought the whole Zaino line was abrasive free? :nixweiss

From the Zaino website:

"

Z-3 SHOW CAR POLISH FOR REGULAR PAINT

Same synthetic technology as Z-2 Show Car Polish above, but also includes a custom blend of emulsifiers to gently clean, condition and maintain regular paints, which tend to oxidize, shrink and lose their resiliency quicker. Special filling agents for fine scratches, buffing and swirl marks. Optical enhancing additives designed specifically for single stage urethanes, lacquers, enamels, lucite, imron, acrylics and older paint formulations. One eight ounce bottle of Z-3 Show Car Polish will yield approximately eight to ten coats on a mid-size car."

I would doubt that it is abrasive - like other Zaino products (except Z12 glass polish). Perhaps an email to Sal would answer the question.

I searched precisely 25 pages for a thread on Z3 vs. Z2. I guess it was lost in the server outage.

Anyway, Metallic Mike/MikeLS said that the only difference is that Z3 has additional UV protective qualities benefited only by non-clearcoated cars. He claims that Z2 and Z3 are identical in ease of use, shine, etc.

If all is true, it is more logical to buy Z3 for versatility's sake. But I still don't get why they make Z2, if Z3 does the same and more...

P.S. Searching is easier said than done!

My lexus black is claimed to be non-clear coated. But I had been using z2 before I changed to Z3. Personally I like z2 better, I dont get the result I want from z3.
