Your tip of the day....

Regardless of how many different LSPs I've tried I still keep coming back to Collinite 845 Insulator Wax. One thing that always bugged me was the screw-on cap. When opened new the consistency is thick and a plug usually forms in the opening. After residue builds up on the threads the lid doesn't stay on too well with the vigorous shaking required to reduce it to a thin, pourable consistency. (as evidenced by the IW splatter on my drywall! )

I began collecting the pop-up lids from empty product bottles and sticking 'em in a drawer. I've got a variety of sizes and threads and finally stumbled across one that fits the IW bottle. After warming a fresh bottle up standing in hot water and shaking the bejeezus out of it the thin, pourable product now comes smoothly out of the flip-top in the miniscule amounts required for the super-thin application that produces best results. I also found a flip-top that fits a 16 oz KAIO bottle. Plus no more product on the floor when I kick 'em over.

TL <---- another shameless attempt to scoop the Big Kahuna from Luster :w00t:

I am thinking of topping BFWD(x2) with a few coats of 845 for the winter. How do you like the looks and slickness of 845?

I guess I'm lucky, as soon as I got my IW I found a pop-up lid that fit it. Saved me a ton of headaches no doubt!

Sorta on topic, I put a coat of IW on my ride yesterday (after Poli-Seal). I forgot what an awesome glow it has on light metallics!
