Your thought on Griots polishes?

If any of you know anything about them, please give me some feedback. Thats basically all I am using now and I have heard there are better polishes out there! I am currently using a Machine Polish 2 and a machine polish 3(which is suppose to be a final polish). These are hard as hell to get off the car. Im leaning towards menzernz IP and FPII. I just ordered a finishing pad because I have been using the orange cutting pad with my machine polish 3 and getting horrible marring and haze. I want a good final finishing formula to use with my white pad I just bought. I would like to hear everyones feedback on griots..Thanks in advance! :waxing:

I used to use Griot's polishes all of the time. If they are hard to get off you are probably using too much. I found better polishes for less money and is why I stopped using their polishes.

What would be a good alternative to number three? I got the set of a bunch of their stuff as a gift a few years ago, and am almost out of the number three polish, I really have liked using that product. My issues with removal are not with the polish, but the terrible lighting in my garage and a metallic black paint that can hide it at different angles.

I will continue using speed shine, however until I try something better.

I always recommend Optimum Polish for a final polish. Even on jet black paint there is zero micro-marring while still being aggressive enough to use on light to moderate hazing and swirls.

jaycevs- i agree with you on the speed shine..Best detailing spray out there IMO.

02ZTSfocus-where can I get some optimum polish for my final step. For later when I run out of my griots

I've just been a fan of the Menzerna twins, and am comfortable using them which is why I don't feel like changing!

I also love SpeedShine, which is why I get it by the gallon.

Heh heh, I remember debating Griot's Machine Polishes (and BOS wax) with Danase...he always liked them but I really *didn't* (and I used them quite a bit).

Yeah, they're hard to buff off and IMO they're not too effective (they do much better correction by Cyclo than they do by PC). My knee-jerk recommendation is to replace them with 3M PI-III RC 05933 and MG 05937 but those are getting hard to find. So yeah, Menzerna (and/or the BlackFire/Menzerna polishes) or Optimum or 1Z if your LSP is a wax (as opposed to a sealant).

In fact, for a MP#3 replacement, those of you using wax for a LSP oughta look into 1Z MetallicPolishWax. Mild as can be, and incredibly user-friendly. It leaves wax behind so it's not good before a sealant though.

I still have the GG Machine Polishes on the shelf (both generations of them, sorta preferred the early stuff myself). But they stay on the shelf, there are just *so* many other polishes I'd rather use. Haven't used them in years.
