Your most used final finish product

NattyBumppo

Strange name, ain't it?
For me, it's Poorboy's Polish w/Carnauba. I don't obsess over multi-step detailing much any more. Not only don't I seem to have the time anymore but truthfully, I don't have the drive to engage in six to eight hour marathon sessions. Sure, a couple times a year I'll hunker down and go the whole nine-yards but the rest of the time PWC takes care of the paint cleaning and leaves a great slick shine that lasts as long or longer than any other one-step product I've personally used.....that includes Klasse AIO.

I just finished giving my Mazda a fresh PWC coat. Did a S&W and PWC on the hood, roof and trunk when I got home from work last night. Time out from the family was 30 minutes. This morning a quick S&W on the sides and PWC and the exterior is done. Another 30 minutes gone. Doing things this way has enabled me to keep things in good shape and not give my life away to detailing. I'll use an hour next weekend to do the interior with 4-Star Ultimate Leather Conditioner, vac and Natural Look on the dash. 2 hours a month and the car looks better than 90% of the rides you'll see on the road.

If I get giddy, I'll sneak away and top it off with a coat of Natty's Wax but sshhhh, don't tell my wife!:lmfao

Sound off....what is the final finish product, wax or sealant, cleaner/non-cleaner, that you use most often and why?

For me it is NXT. I love the look that it gives my paint. I do two thin coats and then wait 24 hours and usually end up topping it with TS(for ultimate looks) or #16(for maximum durability). I find myself using more of NXT than anything else lately.

I just got EX-P last week and love it so far.

Depending upon the color of the vehicle, I'll use some combination of VM or PwC with EX or EX-P. After a week or two, I'll think about topping with a carnauba (Natty's, S100, CMW, or my newly acquired Souveran). Sometimes I'll top, sometimes I won't.

Final final finish product most used would have to be UPP.
NXT would be a close second or even tied right now.

The van gets UPP monthly.
The GTP gets NXT every 4 to 6 weeks.
The Vette gets NXT about every 2 to 3 months.

The one thing that has remained constant for a couple of years is the UPP with Klasse AIO as a prep on the van. AIO every 3 months and UPP each month since June of 2002.

The GTP had AIO/S100 for a couple of years, but has had Poorboy's PwC/NXT this past several months.

The Vette has also had PwC/NXT since NXT was available.

So many products, so little time.

Charles

Meguiar's new NXT High Tech Wax is the final finish product I use most often. I've already gone through a couple of cases of NXT during the past few months. My detailing customers really like the results, especially on black and dark colored vehicles.

Wow Natty! You know me.............. that's a tough one?????????

Anyhow, as much as I like all the new sealants that are available, I always seem to wander back to a fine carnauba. Having said that, I would say that Natty's is probably my most used product....... especially given the price.

Now, on my wife's new whtie CRV, I may end up going to straight EX-P after PP. If my new vehicle ends up being a light color........... and I suspect it will, EX-P may end up being my most used topper. Although, I would suspect that some Natty's will make it on those vehicles at some point! :D

During the summer months I'll lay down a few coats of sealant, UPP or Wolfgang's and then top with a wax from there on out through the summer - almost every week or other week. My choice of wax is Souveran on my red truck and the wife's navy blue car.

In the winter I've been putting a couple coats of the sealant followed with EX and then EX again every chance I would get where it was warm enough to wash and put the EX on again.

I've got the Trade Secret, but I honestly prefer the Souveran more as I just like the look better.

LOL...yep, I do know you Boss and I know you've got more "stuff" in your cabinet than Poorboy has in his warehouse! And like you, I always keep finding my way back to good ol' carnauba. Although I must say UPP does get a lot of use on the wife's silver metallic Pathfinder.

There is just something cozy about carnauba. Maybe it's the fact that you don't need to know a "process" or worry about cure times, dawn washes, what QD you can use with it...etc etc. PWC get me the best of both worlds.

Howz about a nice shiny black truck? Just think of all the fun you can have keeping it dirt, dust and swirl free. :drunk

Gee, I bet you can guess what's on my SC430:-p

Oh yea, you better go to the bar and get that liquor smell on you as Natty's wax smell is a dead give-away to the wife! "You've been waxing your car again haven't you?"

Mine got pissed after I washed all my MF's and she did her clothes, now they smell like Natty's:lmfao I was saying to her...
"So what's the problem? Natty's smells better than half the crap you have for make-up. Maybe you'd like to try some?" You can guess where that got me! Chatteau Le Bow Wow.

I really have to strip down the SC430, but just like you, who has time? When I do, I'll get the rest of the swirls out.

PS: Nice to meet ya! :bigups

Regards,
Deanski

You crack me up Deanski :lmfao . You didn't REALLY say that to the wife, did you? Well, when she kicks your arse out the door feel free to come stay with..........Steve :lmfao .

I wish I had that Armorguard stuff on my car the other morning when the dump truck slung that stone at me.

Real nice to meet you too. Look forward to next time.

That blows! That's exactly why I got the Armorglove. Damn Lexus is low to the ground and it was getting hit.

Yep, I did say that. I'm riding the couch now. Not so bad, big TV, frig, etc.

Still loving the EX-P/Nattys combo. Nice look!

Hope to hell you get some type of film on the car so you're not getting STONED.

See ya,

Dino
