I have been thinking about the little details lately.

What is everyone's favorite:

1. Tire Dressing?

2. Wheel Well Dressing? (Also, what do you use to clean weel wells?)

3. Bumper Trim and Body Moulding Dressing?

Chime in and tell what you like for the above items and why.

Thanks in advance! :D

1. Tire Dressing?

Turtle Wax Formula 2001 - Hardly any sling even when you use alot and it is easier to clean off the tires than other stuff I have used.

2. Wheel Well Dressing/Cleaner?

I don't dress my wheel wells with anything, hard to see inside of them anyhow. I spray Simple Green inside the wells and spray it off with a pressure washer.

Tire Dressing:

I love Lexol Vinylex on my tires, it gives the perfect shine, not too wet and wet enough to tell there's dressing on them. Durability is crap though, lasts 2 weeks maximum. I'm using EO WET Tire Shine Spray right now, it's a little shinier than I would like but lasts a long time. I still have a lot of Meguiar's Endurance left over. It's good also, but is messy to apply and slings all over the place even after being buffed off (I'll try it again after my EO runs out).

Wheel Well Dressing:

I usually spray my wheel wells down with APC+ and scrub them with a soft wheel brush, then rinse off. I use Stoner's Trim Shine on them. They make the wheel wells look new and lasts a while if you're not driving in the rain.

Bumper/Molding Trim

I don't have any bumper trim, but a friend of mine likes to use Meguiar's GC protectant wipes on his BMW. For the exterior moldings, I use Vinylex or 303. Both give the perfect satin finish and improve the look of my silver car tremendously.

I hope this helps you out a bit. :wavey

Fav Tire Dressing:

EO Wet Tire Spray

Stoner More Shine Less Time (has a tendancy to sling)

Wheel Wells:

Clean with diluted Simple Green

Dress with cheap tire dressing (Armor All etc)

For show car:

Dress wheel wells with Griots Undercarriage Spray

1. Tire dressing - Stoner's More Shine Less Time, very easy to use, semi glossy, haven't noticed slinging yet.

2. Wheel wells - cheap silicone based dressing like ArmorAll.

3. Trim - 303 so far but it doesn't last, going to try Stoner's Trim Shine.

Tire Dressing: I like Turtle Wax 2001 Tire Gel, but right now I'm trying out their new Wet'n'Black Tire Gel.

Wheel Well Dressing: STP Son Of a Gun and other inexpensive $ store protectants. :)

Ive spent a small fortune over the last 25 yrs on dress...I now have a product made just for me it is a water base similiar to armor all but a little thicker and unlimited shine qaulity. The stuff is unreal and when you run through a rain storm or two it comes off gradually then you clean them as usual and can set up a new dressing ! You are going to wash the car periodically and you certainly dont want caked on greasy tires right ? I like Auto Magic's white dress also and there is a petro base from Lowes Of Darlington SC that is the best solv base going anyone need order info E me GHA

1. Tire Dressing - I've been using Turtle Wax dressing lately, I dig the glossy ghetto shine as some people call it! I've used Vinylex and Stoner's More Shine Less Time and like them both as well. They don't last very long in the rain though.

2. Wheel Well Dressing - I spray the wells with APC+ and scrub with an old rag. I've been spraying them with Stoner's Trim Shine, but it's becoming too expensive! I may have to get some cheap Armor All for the wheel wells, like someone else said.

3. Bumper Trim and Body Moulding Dressing?

I use Vinylex on all other trim.

Tires: I really like Meguiars #40. I can use it to make a nice even gloss to a nice matt even black(my favorite stlye)

Wheel wells: I was recently given some armor all foam tire dressing. Since it cleans with the foam it gets any dirt you missed while cleaning. I love it so far for the wells. Tonight after I let it even out and dry i went back with a rag to wipe over it....Perfect

Tires: Eagle One Concours, Pinnacle, or Vinylex

Wheelwells: Clean with EFHI, soap, water, old mitt, and a soft brush. Dress with Eagle One Concours.

Trim: Forever Black once a year. Nothing in between.

BretFraz:

Does Forever Black really last that long? I read the description on CMA's website and it sounds pretty interesting. How would you compare the shine it leaves to that of a PDMS dressing?

Thanks!

I like Meguiar's End High Gloss.....I put it on not too liberally and wipe it in so it is not so runny/greasy. I also only put it on if I know that I am not going anywhere for 3-4 hours to give it ample time to dry so it doesn't sling off....I would like to try some EO stuff though....Anyone try the EO WET Tire Gel??

I haven't seen too many people who like the Meg High Gloss.....what is the deal???? Should I not use it??? It supposedly has the "good" siloxanes in it.....

Wheel Cleaner....I like Sonus Wheel Cleaner.

1. Tire Dressing - Eagle One Concours (Satin finish)

2. Wheel Well Dressing - None, don't care what they look like.

3. Bumper Trim and Body Moulding Dressing - 303

1. Currently Meguiars Endurance Regular Gloss. Like mentioned above, it is a bit messy.

2. Dont really care but ive thought about using my gallon of Meguiars Engine Kote.

3. Using Meguiars #40.

1. Tire Dressing......HiTemp (brand) Grape Tire Dressing from Top of the Line.com. Soaks in to rubber, no sling. Messy to apply.

2. Wheel wells.......Cheap Tire Foam. Works great. For shows, Grape Tire Dressing, followed by wipe-down.

3. Meguiars Gold Class Trim Detailer. Nice satin finish, fairly long-lasting.

1. EO Wet Tire Shine, but make sure to buff off or it slings. I've casually looked for the TW Finish 2001 gel, but I've never seen it.

2. You can't really see them on my car, but I'm planning on dilute Simple Green followed by TW Finish 2001 foaming wheel cleaner (just in case it's totally filthy), then probably EO Tire Shine in there. We'll see.

3. Everyone hates Mother's Back To Black, except me. They say it's too gloppy, but it's the right consistancy for me when applying with a terry cloth. YMMV.
