Your favorite color?

I currently own a Jet Black BMW. I love the car, but sans a garage it is getting tedious keeping this car up to autopian standards. So I have been thinking about what color for my next car, whenever that will be. I've owned silver in the past, and that was a breeze. I also kind of like white. I'm interested in what detailers prefer from both an aesthetic and a detailing point of view. Thanks.

Black for Looks.

Silver for Easy up keep.

I think I will go back to a nice metallic blue again next time, sits in between the 2!

My daily driver is white, easy as heck to keep Autopian. Before that it was silver metallic.

Wife's DD is black. :hairpull Thank goodness for Zaino which greatly reduces detailing to just washing most of the time for months and still be Autopian in appearance.

My garage queen is black. Can not beat a perfect black vehicle in appearance.

Never again a black daily driver for me.

Two Black daily drivers is too much even when garaged. :wall

My next Ford pickup will be that new brownish color with different colored trim.

But, i will probably go with either white, silver, or a blue for my wifes next car.

Absolute favorite color: British Racing Green (though only appropriate for certain cars); second, Black. Colors I like for ease of maint. and look: Light Gold Met., Light/Med Brown Met., "Taupe".

I always tell myself I will never buy a black car again, then I do. Five in a row now. If I didn't have a black car I wouldn't have anything to do at 2am when I can't sleep.

for looks in my mind you cant beat black, Darker Red, or a dark gray/gunmetal.

But my current and next car is white for sure...My last car was black, and ill never do it again.

A nice rich metallic blue, either fairly dark, or the colbalt blue. Greys are also very nice. But i also like a nice glossy red!

I own 2 black Bimmers - a Jet Black 325i and a Black Sapphire Z4. It's a lot of trouble, but for those fleeting moments when they're clean, it's more than worth it to me. In my opinion, the Z4 doesn't look as good in light colors, the creases need muting to look their best - I only really considered black and Sterling Gray. Besides, all my life I've wanted a black car and for 20 years circumstances always worked against me. Now I've done it, and I'm sticking with the color from here on out, dag nabbit.

The color I have right now is my favorite color. Maybe its just because its my first. Its called mystic teal metalic.

Now for my daily driver I would get a darker grey, which always seems to look clean and free of swirls.

My own car is black and when I get another one, unless there is absolutely no way to get exactly what I want except in black, this will be my last black car. Couple that with poor exterior maintenance by my brother when he owned the car and the fact that no matter what I do short of a repaint, it can never be more than 90% 'Autopian acceptable', the unforgiving nature of black paint really frustrates me. If the car had been silver, much of the stuff that is too deep to completely detail out would be all but un-noticable.

Don't get me wrong, black looks better than anything else (red is a close runner up) when well detailed but if you are buying used, make sure any black car you are considering has paint in already very good to excellent condition or keep looking. Don't accept a new on with any flaws either because black paint magnifies anything wrong.

My next car will likely be silver. I used to have a Celica that color and even when it was dirty, it still looked pretty good. Second choice would be red.

I love the look of a black car myself. I agree that nothing beats it. But almost 4 years of owning one, the time and the effort to maintain cleaning it is more than I can devote now. Couple that with the fact that I have to park on a busy neighborhood street, (city bus route, trash & construction trucks, moving vans, etc.) keeping it clean is difficult at best.. if not frustrating. I'm still shopping around for a something on the dark metallic side like a dark blue, green or gray. but definetely not black this time.
