Yesterdays Detail: 98 Eclipse GS (56k Warning)

Yesterday i detailed my friends Eclipse. The car was in really roughed up shape, its been a rough winter and you can tell it hasnt been properly clean also, there were swirls like crazy and they were really deep, and a lot of surface scratches. Other than that the paint is very rich in color and the results were amazin, my friend was amazed. Unfortunantly i couldnt get all the swirls and scratches out because of a lack of daylight. Also there was a lot of oxydation on the lower parts of the car, but i got them out pretty well.



My Process:

NXT Car Wash

Megs #83 DACP with a Medium Cutting Pad (White)

Klasse SG by hand

NXT Wax with a finishing pad on the PC

(Due to a lack of time i couldnt follow up the 83 with the 80 like i wanted but it looks great regardless)



Before:

You can see some of the oxydation on the side skirts but its worse in person.

Swirl City.



After:

Paint looks so rich in this picture.

I've seen some quality red paint here on the board but that is absolutely dripping wet.



I have not seen red like this since Sean's Teg after FMJ.

yeah thats just the ceiling reflecting, wooden rafters thats why it looks a lil odd.

Yea, I am in the process of piecing together a suspension. I will be doing Koni adjustables and Sportline springs for a 2" drop.

its not a dsm, its a gs.



So you went from Dacp... to SG then you put nxt on top of that which has abrasives in it? hhmm.... interesting?

a dsm would be the all wheel drive turbo eclipse/talon. another dsm would be the mitsu Evo III.

my mistake. the dsm or diamond star motor (not mitsu) does refere to all models. for some reason i had dsm=tsi. dsm is the jiont between mitsu, chrysler and eagle. my bad. that still doesn't explain putting nxt on top of sg but oh well
