Yellow Brake Dust Removal

The front wheels on my car (matte aluminum) are coated in a layer of yellow brake dust. I just wanted to know if this is any different than removing other kinds of brake dust build up - and what product would be the best for removing it.

I think I read somewhere that Meguiar's Hot Rims Wheel Cleaner was a good choice. I just don’t know if I need something stronger to cut through it.

Any input?

If there is a yellow color it sounds like the dust may have discolored the clearcoat on your wheel? Im pretty sure all brake dust is grey/black

I've seen yellow-ish brake dust on BMW and MB wheels which were neglected all winter. If the brake dust is caked on maybe it is a peculiar environmental reaction with the brake compound. Basically some oxidation on the outer, more exposed layer of grime.

Megs wheel brightener took it right off.
