Just clicked the last payment on my BMW - now I own it... It feels good. The extra $650 a month should come in handy...

My Pathfinder has been paid off for years. No car payments no more for me.

My good friend has THREE new vehicles (2 x 2016 Subaru STi + a 2016 4Runner)... Now he is thinking of adding a new Mercedes CLA AMG. Yikes. He usually keeps vehicles a year or two before either the car or the purchasing dealer`s service department pisses him off.

I keep telling him he is nuts for doing this. He makes a good living, in the ballpark of what I make dollar wise... But, just buying new cars all the time is financially crazy to me.

Who else is driving for free (no payments)?

Only paying for one of our three vehicles. My gto and grand Prix GT are paid for. Bought them cash. The Silverado LTZ is still has 3yrs or so.

We have been discussing the possibilities of my wife buying a nice little new Chevy Cruze or similar once the truck is closer to being paid for so she doesn`t need to drive the Grand Prix to work an hour each way.

Cars are all paid for, only 6 years left on the mortgage then will be debt free. Might look at a small cottage on a local pond then, that we can use for summers (still be in our peek earning years). When we retire sell that and use money to buy a condo or town house down near Ron in Florida. Call Florida my main residence then for taxes but keep house up here and split the year back and forth where ever the weather is better.

I haven`t had a car payment in a long time.
Every time I price that new F350 I want, I leave satisfied that I didn`t buy anything.
I`m not paying $600 a month.
Doing most repairs yourself really saves on Your wallet too.

Congrats! Must be an awesome feeling. We are only paying on one car right now but I really need something for myself soon.

No car payments for me for the past 6 years. Bought mine for $2000 cash and still takes me where I need to go.

Congrats on yours Swanic, that`s a good chunk of extra money per month to play with.

congrats- I remember that feeling...debt free, then I saw this pretty metallic black SRT challenger and it was all over- haha

not me. still have about a year left on the SRT and almost 2 on my frontier (but both payments are less than 650/month total)

28 years on the mortgage! haha but if I told you what the payment was you wouldn`t believe me anyways

I can`t imagine the crap I don`t need that I could collect if I didn`t have those three payments (or at least the two vehicle ones)

your neighbor must like losing large amounts of money (on trade ins)
that person should be leasing vehicles IMO

Been car debt free for over 6 years and as much as I LOVE cars I will never go back. Mortgage is on a 7 year plan and then I wont go back there either. The freedom you get is so awesome. I now buy used (7+ year old) cars in the $3000 range or less. They are just fine especially when you can do your own work on them.

No car payment here either. I`ve been saving up enough to pay cash for cars that I want for quite some time now. Still paying mortgage. My wife will still be paying that off after I die. I love that no car payment feel. Congrats. Now start looking for your next new car. Lol

95 Camry for me. I keep it in better condition than about 80% of those with luxary vehicles, sadly. It was funny I parked it next to a black Mercedes that was all swirled up and mine looked like the paint was newer. If I decide to get a new car, I`m gonna buy the Tesla model 3. Then I can literally drive it for free

Nice to see people who drive luxary cars on here. Even some people with lambos. It`s sad to see a high end car with an owner who`s clueless about taking care of it. Enjoy the BMW!

Congrats! I had my car paid off once and then finally caved again. I do not regret my decision as driving a new truck is a blessing and I am fortunate enough to be able to afford the payment. I am still young, no kids, no wife, so why not!

Feels good, doesn`t it! My truck & wifes Lexus paid for, boat paid for,no mortgage. This way I can send my money to PBMG for the addiction. Want a new super duty but can`t part with my Tundra just yet, does the job, runs well & still looks pretty good. Plus it does feel good not to owe money to anyone but Uncle Sam.
