Xmas Detail On Black

Hi all.



In need off some advice. Been doing some serious reading on here today and havent yet found out the definative answer if ther is one. I have agreed to detail a freinds black car over the holidays. Been doing a search on hear as to what is the best products to use, problem being is Souverän seems the top choice on black but I dont own any and ther is no way i can get some over to the UK in time!



So I need to do the car with what I have.



Paint is in very good shape (or it cleaned it a few months ago) so it shouldnt need any really heavy polishing.



If it is in good shape still Im going with Autoglym Super Resin polish or Megs Swirl free.



I then plan to give it a coat of Clearkote Vanilla Moose.



This is where the advice is needed, what looks best on Black.



The car is kept outside so it needs a sealant option.



Out of what I have Im looking at.



1. Poorboys EX - From the search seems the best option for black.

2. Poorboys EX-p - looked really good in Pics, clearer than than the ex but not so deep and wet, more wet and clear.

3. Megs NXT - An option as I have some.



Which would you go for?



To finish the car off I want to give it a coat of wax too, ( No Souverän ) so after a few hours reading on here I have got it down too.



1. P21s/S100

2. Nattys Wax



Both are said to look very like the Souverän, some users have said they look the almost the same.



3. Clearkote Carnuba Moose Wax



As i know it looks good over the ex's and vm on dark colours.



I also have



4. Megs #16

5. Megs #26

6. Blitz Wax.



If they are good on black.



In short looking for the best sealant and wax combo on Black paint out of what I have. Im looking to buy some Souverän in the new year as im looking into a black car myself, so hopefully when this detail is done I will be able to compare.

At this time of the year, I would use Autoglym but the VM EXP does give a deeper shine and as you know Autoglym (SRP & EG) gives a higher gloss. Maybe top either with #16
 
Cheers Steven. I did think SRP and EG, EX-p seems to be standing up well on my old 205 according to the new owner. It also like you say has a deeper shine.



I am hoping this detail will become more regular its once every 3 months at the mo so durability isnt that much of a key, guy is more concerned with apperance.
 
That was a normal combo for me on Blue.

The meguiars Gold Wax seems to work quite well on my car, not sure if it would be up to your standards however if you look at my gallery you can see the effect that it has ... my car is black :)
 
Cheers Andy. I think i will go with what I have on my friends car, but may be needing some of the above in March :) ;)
 
I use the SRP for its mild polishing abilitys, I find it's easier to use than Megs #9 or #82 and is an excellent product for removing minor suface marks. Not for any form of protection, then VM to give the wet look.
